CBD Helping Pets With Seizures, Anxiety, and Pain

in #cbd7 years ago

The CBD market continues to see huge growth today and is expected to still continue booming for the next few years to come. The CBD market in recent years has been largely responsible for helping to drive the success of the cannabis market overall in many regions. CBD doesn't offer the psychoactive effect that you would expect to find with cannabis, thanks to the THC, and there are many people who have been willing to try CBD even for their kids or their pets who are also suffering. These might be individuals who otherwise would never have considered consuming cannabis for themselves, but CBD has proven to be a sort of entry point for those who've used it to medicate without getting the high.

New research suggests that CBD can help dogs too and that it might be vastly beneficial in helping to potentially reduce life-threatening seizures and more.

Not only have we seen CBD prove to be useful for some children who are suffering from seizures, but pet owners have also seen their furry friends be able to reap some of the same remedy.

"“It has the potential of saving the lives of thousands of dogs,” - Dr. McGrath

Some epileptic dogs have been accepted to take part in different University studies that have been investigating the potential effects of CBD and the results thus far look promising. The seizures are obviously very discomforting and painful experiences for the pets to go through and if the CBD can help them, then what is there to lose; many owners have decided on taking a chance to see if it could help.

Researchers have also been investigating the potential effects that CBD might have on dogs with arthritis too.

For some it has helped them to be able to live a normal life and it has reduced their suffering. That's truly a priceless gift; being able to enjoy your life and not having to sit there in pain.

According to one study with dogs using CBD, researchers saw that at least 90 percent of the dogs in the treatment group had a reduction in seizure activity. Researchers assert that the CBD is able to alter the brain chemistry to reduce the future chance of seizures.

Thanks to the soaring popularity there are a lot of fraudulent CBD products that have made it to the market though and sometimes you could be purchasing something that doesn't have a sufficient amount of CBD in it, or contains other harmful ingredients. And while there might be a growing number of veterinarians and pet owners who are advocating for the use of CBD, you'll still be able to find plenty of critics.

For those who have pets that might be suffering, they might be interested to know that researchers have seen pets respond, dogs specifically, to cannabis (CBD) in the same way that humans do.

They've been able to see benefit by using such a treatment, for things like epilepsy, and arthritis, and more. Because of the growing demand that people have to help their pets, you can find a growing number of pet treats containing CBD, along with other pet-centered CBD products, increasingly coming to market to try and meet this need.

Indirectly, I can attest to the truth in this. Our 10+ year old heeler/husky mix was really struggling with both obsessively licking her paws (neurotic) and early stages of a collapsing trachea.

A good friend has a dispensary, and suggested we try very low amounts of RSO for a while... after about two months, not only is the neurosis gone, the frequent hacking (associated with the trachea) gone... but she's also behaving like a much younger dog, presumably because she also had some arthritis pain.

It’s quite interesting how 5 years ago none of this was even a thing. Now CBD has been able to help cure if not momentarily assist with specific diseases. No clue they started testing on animals but I’m glad everyone is benefiting from this!

I have a tincture I make with industrial hemp that I give to my dog daily. He is a bigger and older dog and it really helps with his hips and such. Then the little dogs get it to ease anxiety.

CBD is amazing. The problem with what's Marijuana industry becoming is that they start applying the same shitty practices as in mainstream agriculture: pesticides, herbicides, chemical fertilizers and such, sometimes to the point of making the most medicinal plant on Earth (which Marijuana undeniably is!) quite toxic. I have a fried who has a big chunk of land in Oregon and all their marijuana products (including amazing CBD oil) is organic, plus they LOVE their plants. They employ only people who love their work and they pour so much of it in their plantation. I must say, it's work checking out for anyone looking for top pure organic CBD oil. Her name is Maia and this is her website: https://thelightheartedfarmer.com/ . And no I'm not their salesman nor do I get any commissions on this. I just love the ethics of their work in an industry that is getting polluted by toxic practices. It's important to keep our weed healthy! Much love @doitvoluntarily. Resteemed, naturally!

Hi doitvoluntarily, how positive is it to hear that sick dogs are responding to CBD.
