Hope you all are well. Today I am participating in "Paint Your Feelings – All Creative Arts Contest | Week 2". I love drawing and coloring since childhood. Whenever I get time, I try to make my favorite pictures.

This time I made a beautiful drawing of Masha. Besties I have always liked this character. Because of her innocent smile and mischievous manner. So I tried to draw on paper with the help of colored pencils. I hope you all will like my work.

Now I share with you the complete step-by-step method of making my drawing.

Step 01

First I drew the basic shape of Masha's face with a simple pencil. I then carefully outlined her scarf and added the knot tied at the bottom. I kept all the lines light in the beginning so that if the shape didn't look right somewhere, it could be easily erased and recreated. After this stage was completed, the basic shape of the drawing became clear.

Step 02

In this step I started to draw the details of the face. First make the braids of the hair with a light hand, then add both eyebrows to define the shape of the face. After that completed the outline of the top of the dress and the shoulders as well. By this stage the shape of the drawing is pretty much formed. It is easy to add the eyes, nose, lips and other fine details in the next step.

Step 03

In this step I carefully drew both eyes first because I think this is the part that makes the whole drawing beautiful. Then added pupils and eyelids to make the facial expressions clearer. I tried to keep the size and shape of both eyes the same. Now the drawing is starting to look more complete. I am sure that it would look even more beautiful in the final stages.

Step 04

In this step I completed the remaining details of the face. First draw the nose, then draw the smiling lips to bring out the happy face of the character. Along with this I also defined the inner line of the scarf to make it look more clean. Now the drawing was almost done and the next step was just coloring.

Step 05

In this step I first filled both eyes with green color because eyes highlight the beauty of any character. Then I also completed the outline of the hair and eyebrows. So that all the details of the face are clearly visible. After I started coloring. I felt that the drawing started to look more beautiful and attractive than before. This also boosted my motivation.

Step 06

In this step I first filled the hair with a light brown color and tried to apply the color in one direction so that the hair looks natural. I also used the same color on the eyebrows. So that the two look harmonious. After adding color to the hair. The face of the drawing became more beautiful and clear. This made my work more interesting.

Step 07

Finally, I filled the scarf and dress with pink, then painted the lips red and used a light color on the face to give a natural look. I went through the whole drawing carefully again and evened out the colors where needed. Finally my drawing is complete. I was very happy after completing it. Because it is always nice to see the result of your choice after hard work.

What inspired you to create this artwork?

I am inspired by Masha's character for this drawing. Since childhood I love her innocent face, beautiful smile and mischievous style. Whenever I watch this cartoon. I like her cheerful personality. That is why I thought of trying to make it on paper in my own way this time. I am very happy making this drawing. Because I completed every step with my own effort. It also gave me a great opportunity to improve my drawing and coloring skills. This boosted my confidence even more.

What message or feeling does your artwork convey?

This drawing of mine conveys a sense of happiness, innocence and positive thinking. I chose Masha because her smile and playful demeanor always conveys happiness. I believe that even small joys in life is very important. We should try to spend every moment smiling. Through this drawing. I want to convey the same feeling to others. That if we make time for our favorite activities. Then not only our heart is happy. But our creativity also improves. I hope the viewers will like my effort.
