The Moon and Her Friends (An Original Children's Story)

Once upon a time, when the Earth was still young, the Sun and the Moon ruled every living creature in the planet. They both wore their bright, silky robes everytime, providing all creatures with light. Everyone was happy. The Sun and the Moon worked together in harmony and peace.
Until one day, a group of tiny rocks appeared across the sky. They came from a dark, and tiny region somewhere in the space. They've heard that Earth has an unlimited supply of light, and they wanted to ask for even a little amount of light for their region. There were five of them and they looked gloomy and sad. They roamed the skies, hoping to get some help. So, they decided to approach the Sun.
They asked the Sun to share some of his light for them to use, but the Sun was proud and greedy, he didn't want to share his light to the tiny rocks. He told them, "My light is only for the Earth, I'm sorry. You better go and ask the Moon", after that he went on about his business and forgot the whole thing.
The tiny rocks followed the Sun's advise. They went to the Moon and asked for some light. The Moon felt sorry for them, but instead of giving them what they needed, she asked them to take her to their region. The tiny rocks were happy to do so, and there, the Moon found hundreds of thousands of tiny rocks living in the darkness.
Then and there, she made her decision. She tore her bright, and silky robe into tiny pieces, and gave them to each and every tiny rock in the region until nothing was left for her. The bright tiny rocks danced around her and she felt nothing but joy and pride for her new friends. Until it was time to go home. She said her goodbyes, and started to roll across the space without any light.
She rolled and rolled until she realized that she's lost. She couldn't find her way home anymore, not without her light. So she wept as she glided helplessly into the darkness, hoping to find some light, enough to find her way. She wondered how the tiny rocks moved around without light. It must have been very hard, she thought. Not long after, she spotted a tiny light and decided to follow it. The single light became three, then ten, and before she knew it, she was surrounded by hundreds and thousands of bright, tiny rocks.
They took her home and never left her side. When the Sun found out that the Moon sacrificed her light for others, he felt bad, knowing that the Moon will never be bright again. But the Moon never felt bad about it. She was so happy that she was able to help. In return, she found her new family who accepted her even without her brightness. She knew it was worth it.
To this day, the Sun and Moon still watches us from above. The Sun reigns in the day while the Moon takes her throne during the night. We can also see her bright, tiny rocks sprawled across the sky to keep her company.
