Thamphatai, a beautiful ancient cave, in Lampang province, in the North of Thailand
Caves are one of the wonderful things that were created by nature. There are many beautiful caves in Thailand. And Thamphatai is one among them.
Thamphatai is an ancient cave with valuable history. It is situated in Thamphatai National Park in Lampang province, in the North of Thailand.
Tham means cave
Phatai is the name of the cave
The area is surrounded by plenty of trees that look relaxing.
To reach Thamphatai, you will have to climb up a lot of stairs, but your fatigue will disappear when you see the beauty of the cave…
Before going inside Thamphatai, you will see a beautiful Buddha image at the entrance.
According to our belief, this Buddha image protects the cave from any danger.
At another corner, there is the monogram, Por Por Ror (in the Thai language) commemorating the visit of Tham Pha Thai of King Rama VII (our ancient King).
When walking into Thamphatai, you will find the stalagmites and stalactites that sparkle when they hit the light. It seems that they decorate the cave beautifully.
They are truly amazing sculptures created by nature.
In Thamphatai, there is not only the beauty of the stalagmites and stalactites but there is also old volcanic ash stone that is over 15 million years old!
I can say that Thamphatai is a very old and valuable cave indeed. And it’s worth a visit, for sure!
