One of many reasons your humble vagabond stylizes as a “believer,” (Not the way neo-Christians mean it), is because of the timeline we’ve lived through.
I met a guy who picked up the magazine I was publishing at the time, in the restroom of a nightclub. He called me up. We met up. He introduced me to a couple of other guys, but nothing really came of it. I get a call from someone the guys I’d met previously, recommended me to. We met outside of the diner attached to the night club where the first guy had picked up my zine. She, a young DJ from Canada, (who is very well known these days, DJ Cosmic Cat), told me I should call those two guys I’d lost touch with.
All of this happened in the waning years of the 1990s. So I called. These dudes had built a “webcasting” enterprise called Media Bureau Network, (it still exists.) Just before the turn of the century, 1998, 1999 and into Y2K, your humble DJ, known variously as DJ SOMA, (Sexiest Old Man Alive), and Noxsoma, was guesting on proto-podcasts, then called “web casts,” and eventually hosted a show based on the underground magazine I was publishing.
So what is it that makes your humble vagabond a believer?
If you have to ask, you’re not getting the picture. Some concepts cannot be distilled into words. The way we only see the reflection of light, yet we are beings of light?
Atman could tell you dozens of stories like this. An idea came to mind. Something as, in hindsight, mentally describing the next girlfriend, and “poof,” it happens. The affairs don’t last because my descriptions were not complete. (Not to mention my being immature.) It’s like those, “be careful what you wish for scenarios.” Universe grants your wish, but the manifestation is incomplete because the “wish” was incomplete.
Now that we have AI, we can use it as an example.
We tell AI. Draw, or create a pretty girl. This is what we get. Standard. Based on however the AI was programmed. The more details added, the better the image emerges.
Back in the day, I did not know the extent of the power. I would say to my friends, “my next girlfriend is going to be,” and I’d describe her, very superficially, and Poof!. She appears. What’s interesting, in hindsight, very similar to AI, this particular manifestation, had some default properties that were, left over, shall we say. She was Leo. Same as the last. Had similar characteristics, not physical, but personality-wise.
Anyway, we all tell our stories our own way and from our own perspective. If you asked her, you’d get her side.
It doesn’t just work with gig-fantasies and girlfriends. It also worked with housing, and keeping my behind out of trouble, and alive. As mentioned, dozens, perhaps even scores of stories, some as minor as finding a penny at the right time.
I get very excited talking about this. It works with higher denominations of money too. Not just pennies.
We’re over the halfway point of the year, and we are going to start gathering our Secret City together. So what’s this project?
It’s going to be a podcast. No big deal. But it’s not going to be a public podcast. I don’t like hype and I don’t want to do what all the other critters in the corral are doing. They all look the same, sound the same, say the same, with little spins here and there. If you watch the show, that’s the stuff we’ll be talking about. You can push back, ask questions, add info, and certainly correct me if I’m wrong, because I am often wrong and I don’t get to correct many mistakes in the show because I’m off on another quest getting other stuff wrong.
I’m actually considering doing a sample “podcast” (pre-recorded), not simply for practice, but to see how it comes off. This way I can get a decent format together for when we do it for real.
Okay. That’s enough. I will probably only check the email once a week. And, in case it wasn’t mentioned before, we’re compiling a list, so don’t use a “sensitive” email. I’ll get back to you. And you may have to dig my response out of the spam can. More about this will be coming up in future episodes.
It’s going to be a thing. Especially if it’s the right thing to do. Universe will assemble the puzzle pieces and we will have this rolling. Also, one more item. It’s a long term plan. We launch next decade. So we will have plenty of time to get to know each other.
