The Afternoon Thirst

After a long day of Carrying boxes around the shop and standing under the hot sun the thirst finally hit me. Hard My throat felt dry, and I just wanted one thing a cold, refreshing drink to cool me down. I walked over to the small shop that is close to our building , grabbed a chilled bottle of Coca Cola, but I didn't give her any money that moment but I will later pay her later in the day, and i twisted off the red cap. I brought it to my lips took a huge gulp and, well my face instantly twisted. 😅

The Sugar Overload

Don't get me wrong. I love Coke It's classic it's iconic, and it hits the spot. But today it was just too sweet. I mean sugar overload to the max. Maybe it was the heat making my taste buds sensitive or maybe I just wasn't in the mood for all that syrup. It tasted thick and heavy in my mouth. The sweetness was clinging to my throat, and instead of cooling me down, it was making me feel even more sluggish and sticky. I looked at the bottle frowned and I thought, What do I do with this now. I didn't want to waste, money doesn't grow on trees after all. But I also couldn't force myself to finish it the way it was.

The Genius Hack

I was sitting at our brown wooden shop desk. Right next to my Coke was a pack of pure sachet water wrapped in blue plastic. A classic Nigerian roadside companion. I grabbed the sachet, bit off the corner and poured a generous amount of clean water straight into my Coke bottle. I swirled the bottle around mixing the dark soda with the clear water. I took another sip and let me tell you, it was a game changer 😋. The water diluted all that thick heavy sugar, lightening the drink instantly. It turned into a perfect bubbly, semi sweet refreshment. It had just enough fizz and just enough flavor to make me happy, but it wasn't overpowering my throat anymore.

The Shop Life

It got me thinking this is just how life works in the shop. You have to improvise You don't always have the perfect glass, the perfect ice or the perfect drink. Sometimes, you just have a plastic bottle, a sachet of water and a little bit of common sense. I sat there sipping my newly mixed Coke water combo, enjoying the quiet moment before the next customer walked in. It felt good to solve a small problem on my own.

The Closing Thoughts

By the time I finished the bottle, I was completely hydrated and satisfied. I didn't feel guilty about wasting money, and I didn't feel sick from all the sugar. Sometimes the best solutions are the simplest ones. If your drink is too sweet just add water. It’s that easy, Till next time Steemit family. Stay hydrated and don't be afraid to fix your drink your own way and your life to 🥤😄
