Next step in the history of Steem: to the million!
Before we get to the moon, we'll reach million transactions in a day in the Steem blockchain. That's the next huge step.
It might not be far away, one peak in the usage of the blockchain and we are there. I'm not sure what's the current record, but a little while ago we were doing more than 800k. Live statistics can be seen at SteemDB, check the number for "Transactions over 24h".
I my last post I proposed a marketing/publicity campaign when the million happens.
To get things going on, I propose using the tag #tothemillion to coordinate things and raise awareness here in Steem.
There is new a channel #tothemillion in Rocket.chat, please join if you want to be part of this.
Even small contributions will be appreciated: tell your friends, make a comment on other social media platforms, etc. Oh yeah, and of course, create some kick ass memes!
Especially we need somebody who can do the necessary coding to track the current record and make a website to show it. Unfortunately my coding skillz are not enough for than task.
This is a great opportunity to make some real marketing for Steem and Steemit, so let's make the most out of it! It's better to plan this in advance so there is no need to panic when the million is hit.
It is a great milestone for blockchain teknology, bur unfortunaly i don't think it is that interesting to non blockchain "geeks". Still a little marketing can never hurt:)
Mostly I'm hoping this will get the attention of the larger cryptocommunity, who have been dismissing Steem, or just have been too lazy to check it out.
We should avoid advertising Steemit as a money making website. There are litetally thousands of them online. Yes you can make some considerable amounts of money here but money-making advertising will lure hordes of crypto scammers.
That's why we need healthy marketing on other social networks.
I fully agree. There are many better marketing perspectives, such as unsencorable publishing platform for those who truly care about the freedom of speech.
Personally i have been responsible for introducing 50 people to steemit. I feel quite proud of this small milestone towards helping this community grow and I'm also planning on advertising in local dailies a spot costs like $100

I million transaction a day is a great milestone for the Steemit Blockchain; perhaps Bitcoin and Ether might want to buy some insurance policy just incase...

We are definitely going to the moon a million transactions wow what a milestone. Each an everyone of you should give yourself a pat on the back. If it weren't for the amazing post, resteem's, and comments you have left we wouldn't be here today. Steem is fairly new to the world of social media, but with everyone's help we are trucking to be the best platform out. I've never been to a place where you can openly share your ideas, art, etc and get paid. This is truly giving the power back to the people; for what it's worth I'm proud to be a part of this community. May we rise out the ashes and bring steem to the forefront #tothemillion ... We should be talking to the Guinness Book of Records! It is a record, after all.
We have actually made the record already. No other blockchain is nowhere near Steem in processing transactions in a day. But I'm not sure how much the current record is, I don't think anybody has calculated it yet.
Right now facebook is the biggest social media site, and we can promote it there, but the issue is facebook is already afraid of the site and making the links from the site as spam, and even deleting them as well @samupaha
That just shows that they us seriously. =)

We should probably meet the goal of a million within a few months, i wonder what it will then be like 12 months from now!
I'll be surprised if it takes more than month. That's why I want to plan this pretty quickly. It might come quite soon, all it needs is a peak in usage for some reason.
