Two more sites you can use without having to trust exchanges with your funds

in #trading7 years ago (edited)

A few days ago I made a post about services that you can use for trading between coins without needing to trust exchanges with them or holding them there for too long. You can read about it here.

I was made aware of 2 other sites that I wanted to bring up in this post.

Changelly is another service that offers a lot of tokens to trade in between. It is also one of the few ones that accept credit cards and only take a low fee of 0.5% per trade!

I didn't have the best experience with it when it first was released but looking through reviews lately it seems they have they have improved a lot in the long run!

Here is a list of all the currencies they offer to trade with the prices as of writing this. To stay safe always try it out with a lower amount first if you are going to dive into bigger trades!

I hope to see more of these services popping up in the future to not have most users trust exchanges with their funds!

Living Room of Satoshi is another great service that has been up and reliable for some time.

This one is a bit different as it allows you to do other things such as pay Bills directly with crypto's through their site for Australian residents! It also accepts a fair amount of cryptocurrencies such as Steem!

While doing this you can also be rewarded a point for every $1 spent which you then can trade in for some presents on their site!

They also offer some cool stats showing what bills customers have used their crypto for on their page, check it out!

As always, test them out with a lower amount first before you do any bigger deals! Stay safe out there, Steemians!

That is pretty amazing I feel like they are going to come out with more and more new services as crypto expands

Just wait until a major ecommerce retailer starts accepting cryptos. If Amazon or eBay did this then you'd see an explosion of other retailers follow suit. They would probably have a conversion application to support payouts to vendors as well. Exciting times.

overstock.com accepts bitcoin

I wonder how many people are actually using it though

It doesn’t support IOTA

It might be because IOTA is on the 'Tanlge' and not blockchain?

the amount of fees will play an important part

whats amazing about that ?>???

More alternatives to all this overrated exchanges is sure a welcomed development.

I use changelly. Too bad they removed golos and gbg though.

i have been using changelly and everything went smooth

I'll vouch for @changelly Used them a couple of times and I've always been happy with the service. Any delays I've had were because BTC takes so long to confirm.

Haha the turn your points into presents concept is pretty cool!

I have already used changelly, and yeah they offers very low fees compared to others. But the duration of transaction is a bit long in my experience. The other one is new for me. Thanks for sharing more options.

That's probably due to BTC and ETH having an overwhelmed network right now: http://blocktivity.info/

I thought that it was slow for the mining fee...or am i wrong?

Bitcoin and Ethererum have been having problems dealing with the volume on their networks lately. These networks the exchanges have were designed to do like 40k transactions in a day and now all the sudden its at 200k+ so its taking longer as exchanges especially figure out how to process you. Coinbase is awful with this I had one transaction take 12 hours for bitcoin.

thank you for your explanation!

What!? 12 hours is the longest I've heard of

Look up 0 confirmations in 8 hours....its a reddit post 12 hours was a pretty common delay

Awesome! I knew about Changelly but I had no idea about the Living Room of Satoshi... Changelly is rather painless to use, at least in my experience.

More alternatives to Poloniex, good!

I've used changelly several times, as a matter of fact, about 1 hour ago. I did have one issue a few weeks ago that they eventually resolved and I was messaged directly by the CEO. I've recommended them to all my crypto friends

Awesome, sounds like a good company
