Japan to pay travel : The Japanese government will fund from April the travel costs of storytellers, both within Japan and abroad, who will share the testimonies given by ageing victims of America’s nuclear attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki
I had ICT classes throughout primary and secondary school, but never any computer science. It was all stuff like learning how to use microsoft word, excel, PowerPoint, publisher, and later on making flash animations and editing videos. The closest we got to programming was using Scratch and building a website, but even those didn’t use any coding. That was over 10 years ago now though, so maybe it’s different.I recommend Factories of Death: Japanese Biological Warfare fron 1932 to 1945, and the American Cover Up Revised Edition. Sheldon H. Harris. 1994. The three major units in Manchuria were just the tip of the iceberg. I'm really curious if anyone will discuss being refused treatment or if there is any evidence of Japanese US collusion to supress the atomic attacks that will be brought up. Japan did horrible shit to even their own people they industrialized too fast and left ethics at the wayside.I want to be very clear that to do not think it is appropriate to feel guilt for something you didn't do. This causes all kinds of bizarre behavior and it is not constructive. In talking with many people who struggle with anxiety, which kills healthy lifestyle, I've come across feelings of guilt far too often. It makes them feel like a good person. Gives them place of security to tie their identity. But it does not make them a good person and tying their identity to something they had no part in is not constructive. In fact, it typically keeps them from growing.
However, it is extremely important to recognize that you and your community are fallible and to learn from both those who came before you, as well as those you have no relation to.
Too many people seem to want extremes. It's either "I'm a horrible person!" Or "I am perfect and can do no wrong!" It is important to recognize that you are likely neither. What you are is a human. What those around you are, are humans. All of you are capable of doing good and bad. And in whatever place you are there are likely some with the potential for monstrosities.
Being white doesn't give you a prediliction for hating black people any more than being Japanese gives you a prediliction for hating Americans. Being human, however, gives you a set of instincts that can result in what we term good and what we term evil.
Many Germans today recognize that while they are not their ancestors, they are also not inherently more virtuous than their ancestors.
This is why we need history. Not to throw non-constructive guilt. Not to focus purely on how great our people are. But to learn from others about ourselves. Can we also document the stories of the Chinese who were so savagely destroyed by the Japanese? You want to crucify the Nazi for the holocaust, at least they adopted out Jewish babies. The Japanese tossed Chinese babies into the air and tried to catch them with bayonets and swords, made a game of it as mothers watched. (I'm not OK with what the Nazis did at all, just using that as an example to compare the horifice acts of the Japanese during world War
