Bangkok is nice but its the capital of Thailand so it is very busy and polluted as most big city in Asia are! I would only reccomend a few days in Bangkok then travel else where as there are many other beautiful spots all around Thailand.
But in Bangkok you must check out : Koh San Road of course for a party, floating markets and the laying buddha.
