Smoky Joe’s Jerk Hut, Street-side Food Vendor, Negril, Jamaica 🇯🇲 — Ya Mon 🏝

in #travel4 years ago (edited)

One of the best things about Negril is the local roadside eateries. They’re everywhere you look and most of the time these guys are cooking it fresh on the spot. That’s what you want to look for if you’re going to eat street meat. The last thing you want to do is stop at a roadside shop and order jerk that’s been laying there for hours on end.

Smoky Joe’s, in front of Grand Pineapple Hotel located in Negril, is a fantastic street food vendor. He’s cooking fresh on the spot and Smoky Joe welcomes customers to stay and watch as he cooks to perfection.

Jerk Chicken, Lobster, Fresh Fish, Jerk Sauce and Ice Cold Red Stripes 🍻

Smoky Joe’s has been around for awhile and is a well-renowned street food vendor of Negril. He cooks out of a large steel drum making it even more authentic than using a commercialized grill. These guys are all over the place, but Smoky is the guy!

Check him out whenever you venture to Negril!!

I know bro I hit him in the dms on ig and he responded and followed. I told him I shared his jerk hut on reggaesteem 😎

We could maybe work something where he gives a shout to reggaesteem to his 5k + following 🤔

That's original, and it's painted in pretty bright colors.
You can definitely enjoy eating in a restaurant, of course. But street food has its special touch, because it's usually far from the formalities of some places, it's no masks, that's what it is.
Thanks for sharing it @conradsuperb

Ya mon he’s got the paint scheme and color coordinated Jamaica style. Street food is its own special breed for sure.

Thanks for dropping by Jose

There aren't many countries left in the world that still use a bit of handpainted signs and logos for businesses. It's something I miss about Jamaica for sure. There is not creative hand-painted carts like that here in Suriname, instead they mostly opt for machine printed stickers and the modern look.

Jamaica is where the real funk is. There are places with funk still around the world but Jamaica is a different type of breed. Smoky Joe does it right for sure!

Thanks for dropping by, bro! And welcome back to ReggaeSteem after your long trip. Glad to have you back
