My view of magestic Uluru / Ayers Rock

in #travel7 years ago (edited)

Who ever see this photo automatically recognise it! One of the most known natural wonders of the world, Uluru also known as Ayers Rock.

Couple of months ago I visited Red Centre for the second time and again was amazed by beauty of this ancient rock which is “swimming“ in the red desert.

Before I visited site for the first time I couldn’t find too many close up photos online so I had no idea how magestic Ayers Rock really is!

I took some photos but none of them can do it a justice.
Taking photos of some sites is forbidden because they have great spiritual importance to Aboriginal people.

This is Uluru and it’s surroundings seen through my camera, hope you will like it!
Arid red dirt and termites often leave dead trees behind which are unintentional desert sculptures and beautiful reminder about extreme weather.

Clear sunny day can fast change to very cloudy and “storm on horizon” weather. While I was there change was quite fast so I was lucky and snapped double rainbow.

Hidden between rocks you will find black rain water pond and trail that water leaves behind on rocks looks like liquid silver.

Aboriginal people have named many of the individual features of Uluru, such as caves and waterholes, as well. Some cave walls are covered in traditional painted stories...

Uluru is “alive”, every hole, cave and dent is hiding and breading place of many bird and lizard species.

So if you haven’t visited this natural wonder and sacred place I strongly recommend you to add Uluru on your bucket list.

Amazing nature! I love your pictures.

There is nothing beautiful than nature and your capture is just perfect.

These are amazing pictures! Such high quality and so close! Thank you so much for sharing, it's definitely a place on my bucket list!

Thank you dear on those kind words!

These are some great pictures right there @dijana969 👌📸
Would love to go there myself sometimes to take some shots :)

love

That would be my personal favorite of the above, just the composition amazes me. the amazing low saturated foreground makes the background even more intense.

Greetings from Amsterdam,

Thank you kindly, if you look closely you can see tiny people figures...posted photo to ilustrate size of it 😊

It's so insanely big. You must have felt just as tiny as those folks walking around there like ants. Do you remember with what zoom you took that one? 300mm's ?

I used plain nifty fifty, parking is close to the walking trail, but Ayers Rock is huge...path around it is 12 km long, it is real pleasure to walk around, every bit of that path is taking you to something unique!

The nifty 50 is not a plain as you might think :) It's a great lens!!! shot my first works with it actually. got my hands on both variants. I wish I could visit there someday. Who knows <3

I've never really seen up close photos, it really gives you an appreciation for the scale doesn't it! Thanks for sharing

Yes it sure does. There are not many up close photos of it online, thats one of the reasons I posted this. Thank you!

Fantastic images of Uluru Di. Especially loved seeing the rainbow and the liquid silver water memories.

And your descriptions of the life that is abounding there, brings 'the rock' to life. 🦋

Thank you dear!

Hi @dijama969! You've got great photos! I just added Ayers Rock to my bucketlist!

Hi dear, thank you for stopping by, and believe me you won’t regret it...except if you are near it during a thunderstorm 😉

To be honest, this is the first time I see this place, and I gotta say: it's out-of-this-world beautiful! So are your photos, Di :) Resteemed

Uluru is place that seriosly is magical! But because it is mostly made of rock mixed with iron and copper its not recomended visiting during tunderstorm believe me 😊... I was so scared that I missed to take photos of millions of lightnings...what can I say...coward

Haha, is there a historical record of people being struck by lightnings there? :) By the way, I am too seriously scared to be in an open field during a thunderstorm.

Joke aside man was killed by lightning two days ago ... while hiking in Kings Canyon which is a part of Red Centre, so go figure... death by lightning strike is not rare in this country

Oh :/ You better stay away from the thunderstorms then.

Woow.
This is Great!!! Beautifull pictures!!!

Thank you kindly!
