[Travel Diary #1] My favorite place in Venice

드디어 저의 첫! 여행 일기 포스팅이네요.
Hi, this is Diane, with my first travel diary.

다른 블로그에서는, 여행 일기를 시간 순서대로 올리고 있지만, 이번에는 좀 더 자유롭게, 제가 여행하면서 가장 좋았던 곳부터 하고 싶다는 생각이 들었어요.
그래서 어디를 먼저 할지 되게 고민을 했는데, 제가 교환학생으로 갔던 곳인 베니스부터 소개해드리고 싶었어요.
On another blog I have, I post my travel diaries in the order of time,
but I thought this time I would do it in the order of my favorite places.
And since I was an exchange student in Venice and stayed there for the longest time,
I thought it would be the perfect place for my first post.

먼저 베니스는 이탈리아 북부에 있는 작은 인공 섬인데요, 본섬 외에도 다른 작은 섬들이 있어요.
아이유가 CF를 찍어서 유명해진 부라노 섬도 그중 하나입니다.
Venice is an artificial island in the northern part of Italy,
and there are also other small islands apart from the main one.

제가 머물던 기숙사도 본섬과는 약간 떨어져 있는 쥬데카 섬에 있었는데요,
아무래도 배를 타고 움직여야 하는 불편함 때문에 주로 관광객보다는 저처럼 대학생이나 실제로 베니스에 거주하는 분들이 대부분이었어요.
그러다보니 쥬데카 섬은 본섬과는 달리 정말 조용하고 평화로웠답니다.
I stayed at one of the small islands called Giudecca,
which is very quiet and peaceful compared to the main island.
There were definitely less travellers around, so if you're one of those who prefer to avoid tourists, the island would be the perfect one for you.

쥬데카 섬 중에서도, 제가 가장 좋아하던 곳은 바로 기숙사 옥상입니다.
그 이유는 옥상 전망이 단연 베니스에서 최고라고 말 할 수 있을 정도이기 때문입니다.
써니 테라스 호스텔이라는 이름으로 일반인에게도 숙소를 제공하기 때문에, 베니스 여행을 계획 중이시라면 이곳 숙소도 저렴하고 좋은 것 같아요.
(다만, 배를 타고 이동해야 하기 때문에 불편하실 수도 있겠네요.. 그래도 언제 그렇게 배를 타보겠어요!?)
And one of my favorite places in Giudecca is the rooftop of Junghans residence, because it has the best view in Venice.
It also provides accommodation for general people, you can search it on Google as 'Sunny Terrace Hostel'
