The famous “city of the three cultures” (TOLEDO - SPAIN)
Toledo is a city and municipality located in central Spain; it is the capital of the province of Toledo and the autonomous community of Castile–La Mancha, its view is really beautiful and pleasure. I visited this city in 2014 when I was working in Repsol and I had a meeting in the principal building of this company.
It is called "City of the Three Cultures" for the cultural influences of Christians, Muslims and Jews reflected in its history.
Toledo has a typical cold semi-arid climate, Winters are cool while summers are hot and dry. When I was there the weather was so fresh.
Toledo has long been an obligatory stop in the centre of the peninsula. The roads leading to historic Toledo are still used and in many cases have provided the basis to existing roads leading into the city.
The town was granted arms in the 16th century, which by special royal privilege was based on the royal of arms of Spain.
The city of Toledo was declared a Historic-Artistic Site in 1940, UNESCO later given the title of World Heritage in 1987. It is so impressive is because it still has exactly the same layout it had in the Middle Ages.
There are numerous crafts and souvenir shops all over this area. Some of these shops also have a workshop where visitors can see the craftsmen at work. Particularly typical in Toledo are the items of damascene work, ceramics, leather and embroidery.
I went with my indians partners and I did a tour of its narrow streets, the great cathedral, castles, beatiful bridges, the Parador hotel located on one of the hills on the outskirts of the city, where we enjoyed a drink on the terrace of the café while we looked out over a superb view of Toledo as the sun goes down. This was the best reward after our day of sightseeingetc. I felt in an incredible and living monumental site, both inside and out.
