Hello Steemit Friends: Trip to Hawaii...and it was a BLAST

Hawaii was amazing and wanted to share it with you Stemmits. We stayed in Waikiki which is a beachfront neighbourhood of Honolulu, on the south shore of the island of Oʻahu. Probably not the cheapest place to stay. I was blown away by the cost of basic items such as a coffee around $7.00USD. Of course I still bought it. Who can go without coffee right?

As soon as we got there, it was off to the beach. I think I was the only person there without a tan. Did I stand out? um yes. And no I am not in the photo.

The following day we went on a tour around the island. I would highly recommend it, not only for lower priced coffee but the views were spectacular. We stopped by the side of road where stalls of food were being sold, the colours were pretty awesome. A few things I would definitely do if you are thinking about going especially for the first time : Polynesian cultural centre, Waikiki Aquarium and take a trip out to Diamond Head.

Everyday we did 2 hours of homeschooling. That was the equivalent to a full days school work if she was at public school. Of course the incentive was once the school work was done, beach time or roam around the island. World schooling children I believe is the way to go.Get kids out of the class room and experiencing real life.

Hit the supermarkets on around the third day to stock up on some food. Found these items there. Who on Earth has spam and nuts? And dunk Doughnuts ? I gave it a go. As open minded as possible. After tasting the spam and nuts, my thumbs are down on that one. Next time you are there give it a go.
