Travel Blog #3: Nami Island (남이섬)
Small island with big enjoyment
Nami Island (Namiseom) located in Chuncheon, South Korea. They declared independence as the Naminara Republic on March 1, 2016.
The island itself is beautiful. The main attraction here is the scenery. So, probably you’ll take a lot of photos if you go here. Many romantic photo spots for you to enjoy. That’s why many people use this place as the pre wedding photo background. This island get more popular because of the korean love series, Winter Sonata. If you’re a fan of Korean drama you knew this movie well.
We need to use ferry to get there. There’s also one immigration point. The immigration there not complicated. We just need to show our passport while passing. For you who still wondering. Yeah, we’re not in South Korea anymore. It’s two different country.
This is one of the most favorite background to take a picture. The tree is well planted and symmetrical. Maybe, it will looks more romantic when the snow is falling like in the movie. But, it will be cold. I’m not so happy with freezing temperature.
My sister also posing with her favorite statue 😂. I still don’t understand why.
We can also take photos with the ostriches. My grandpa and grandma took picture with the ostriches. I’m also took a picture with the ostriches but before my mom took the picture one of the ostritch try to attack me in the head. So I ran.
This is the last rest place for the prince. There’s an interesting story of it. But, I forget the story and the name of the prince. Maybe if you know you can comment bellow.

Looks like it was a really fun trip! It sounds like there is lots of stuff to see on Nami Island. I also like your sisters favorite statue. I like how its kinda goofy looking. Thanks for sharing your trip!
