PI Bedugul Taman Rekreasi Hotel and resort - Bali ghost hotel -
Good time of the day steemit!
Mid last year i visited the country of Bali. Me and a friend stambled accross this ravishing and luxurious hotel that was known as ghost hotel. Being a conspirasist i knew that places like that are not affected by ghosts but rather political and financial manipulations...
*The main entrance. Notice the marble
So I found how that hotel became a ghost hotel. It isn't for all the rhymes it's coz of how It was build and the story of the land.
First ill start with stories we were told while at Bali: that all stuff and guests dissaprared over night and place was haunted... this gave me goosebumps considering we were two girls travelling on our own and were pretty much only visitors to the hotel.
But while in it ive noticed the absence of furniture, absence of place being worn down due to humans and it genually looked brand new upart from being habituated by nature for past decade. So i looked up the story.
*The view from one of the rooms.
In 1996, Tommy's (Tommy Suharto, the son of former Indonesian President Suharto) company PT Pecatu Graha forced villagers off their land in Bali to build a 650-hectare resort. The brutal evictions were backed by military personnel and police using tear gas. Landowners were offered compensation of only 2.5 million rupiah per 100 square meters(~185k Australian dollars in today's money), which was well below the prevailing market price of the time of about 20 million to 30 million rupiah per 100 square meters.Time magazinereported that residents who refused to sell their land were intimidated, beaten and sometimes put in water up to their necks. Two were jailed for six months.
Tommy never finished up the place, he got imprisoned for the mahinations he was dealing including this hotel. However wgat i found facinating is that his original death penalty was reduced right down to 4 years... and people say Russia is corrupt.

The hotel was supposed to be truly luxurious with breathtaking panoramas and classical design of combination of wood and marble. A part of me wishes I got to see it complete.

Thank you! Was is scary to walk there alone?
In a sense of ghosts no. In a sense of large dark place that is not fully built and might be habitated by animals, snakes n homeless - yes
