Peru Adventure - So excited to go.
One of the things I would like to post about are the adventures I am fortunate enough to get to experience. The perspectives, the challenges to overcome fall into the family of keys to my happiness.
So what's in store next?
In March I will be traveling to Peru with my friend Ryan, central goal is to complete the 4 day back packing trek following the Inca Trail and ending at Machu Pichu.
I know this is still quite far away, but consider this an early intro towards that story.
So why Peru, and why this trek?
One of my loves and passions in this world are back country camping adventures. I love going for a hike that leads you away from the main vacationing areas and sends you into the depths of wilderness. Away from the concrete jungle, littered with thousands others all screaming loudly for your attention, one can find tranquility. Hikes, and backcountry camping in particular, allow you the time to reconnect with nature, experience peace, calm and gives you the time to reflect.
Secondly, it's the challenge over a difficult adventure that drives my progress forward. Being someone with physical difficulties, it has been a challenge sometimes to feel confident with my body. These types of adventures give me a sense of accomplishment and act as a reminder that I am capable of more if I work at it.
So years ago while making a list of challenges I would like to conquer, I found this trek, Peru all ready being a country whose culture I want to experience, helped put this at the top of my list.
It has been a few years since my first interest in the Inca Trail Trek, life has a way of running away from you, but the day is finally soon approaching.
Our permit has been reserved and we are set to depart March 22nd for Lima Peru and make our way to Cusco where we are set to start out rek on the 28th of March.
So excited.
Looking forward to sharing my experience with you all.
