The discipline that Japan follows

in #travel3 days ago

Travelling to Japan was not only about doing sight-seeing, this place gives a very deep and unique experience at all levels. Also it made me think that if this Country can be so disciplined and people by themselves are so mindful about following good practices then why can't it be done in all other countries. The 2 things that I admired the most is that how the city is so clean even without dustbins anywhere, and the other is that the trains stations are so crowded and yet everyone gets into a straight line for going up and down the escalators or for using the elevators.

Through my travel, there were very few places where I could locate dustbins, there were times when I carried my trash in my bag through the day and discarded once getting back to the hotel, and everyone does this.

For using escalators after getting down at the train station, everyone gets into a queue and no matter how long the queue is people do follow it. There is no pushing each other, everyone stands at a safe distance behind each other. One side of the elevator is kept free for people who want to climb up or come down fast. This is the level of discipline I would like to see in my Country but sadly we are far far from it. I do not think even in the next 50 years we can achieve it.
