Travel challenge #31:Waterfalls Skoka

in #travel7 years ago

Hello, friends :) In the tense daily life we sometimes forget to enjoy the little things of life and enjoy our hobbies. In my case, these are the trips to beautiful pieces on the earth, which I then share with you. I admit that lately I really did not spend time on this hobby and fixed it right away. Over the past weekend, I decided to make a trip to the Waterfalls Skoka near Maglizh, Bulgaria. I will not go into more detail, but I will present you some of the pictures I have made accompanied by a little story.

The "Skoka" waterfall over Klissura is part of the Central Balkan National Park. It is about 35 meters high and the water falls on 3 steep passages. The Klisura "jump" is relatively difficult to access and there is no trampled trail. You can reach the waterfall by turning westwards from the main hiking trail Klissura - Eho hut. The drive is at the meadows with the old shepherds just below the ridge. The "Skoka" is reached for about four hours at a moderate pace (from the town of Klisura).

Access to the foothills of the Skoka is difficult, so be careful - the area is wild and overgrown with tall shrubs. The top of the waterfall is accessible, but you need to be in good physical shape

Emen village of Veliko Tarnovo is located at the foot of the Fore Balkan, 20 km west of Tarnovo and 8 km from the highway. From the village starts an eco path starting from the cave and ending with the Momin skip waterfall on the Negovanka River. The Negovanan path is the first eco-path in Bulgaria. In 1980, the Eagle Canyon was declared a protected area. The stairs and bridges built in the rocks of the gorge are a great facilitation for tourists. There are plenty of picnic areas.

"Momin Jump" has a height of about 10 m. Under the waterfall there is a beautiful pool, which is great for a beach. To get to the beginning of the trail, you have to turn away from the main road Sofia-Turnovo near the village of Balvan.

There is also a waterfall with a skewed name near the village of Kaleitza near Troyan. There the water falls 12 m, and under the lake is formed a picturesque and deep pool.

This destination is very easily accessible and you can go by car almost to the waterfall. Here is how to get there: after the fork from the Troyan-Lovech road passes through the whole village of Kaleytsa. Then there is a good asphalt road that runs past the orchards. About a kilometer away there is a small bridge where you will see a small extension of the road. The waterfall is about 200 meters to the left. There are good indications to help you navigate easily.

This waterfall, known among locals as Skoko, is one of the largest and most remarkable tourist sites in the South Pirin. The place is exceptionally picturesque, especially at the meadow beneath the Garvan Rock, where the waters of the lush river make a sharp jump and lie in a 20-meter cliff gap.

The village of Kashina (Sandanski municipality, Blagoevgrad district) is located in the southern part of Pirin. The village is reached by diverting from the international road from Sofia to Thessaloniki E 79 near the village of Novo Delchevo. It passes through Spatovo, Hotovo, Lozenitsa, Melnik, Kurlanovo, Rozhen and Lovechishte. From the village to the waterfall you can reach about 20 minutes on foot. There are good signboards.

The Maglijski jumps are two beautiful waterfalls, which are situated on the river of the same name, which descends through the Stara Planina Gorge above the town of Maglizh. The waterfalls were registered as a landmark in 1965. To reach them, you need to leave the bus station in Maglizh in the direction of the Barites.

The road passes along the river itself until it reaches the northern end of the city. The Barite area offers great picnic conditions - there are spacious meadows, gazebos and benches.

There are no bridges around, so the best time to visit is the summer and autumn months when the Maglijka River is not the deepest and can be passed on the stones. The gorge of the river is surrounded by high rocks. In some places the trail rises at a height of 30-40 meters above the river and opens a view of the Balkan Mountains.
