is the primary town of Polonnaruwa District in North Central Province, Sri Lanka. Kaduruwela range is the Polonnaruwa New Town and the other piece of Polonnaruwa stays as the illustrious old city of the Kingdom of Polonnaruwa.
The second most old of Sri Lanka's kingdoms, Polonnaruwa was first proclaimed the capital city by King Vijayabahu I, who crushed Chola trespassers in 1070 to rejoin the nation afresh under a neighborhood pioneer.
The Ancient City of Polonnaruwa has been announced a World Heritage Site.
