Venice: The city of romance

in #travel7 years ago (edited)

I start my STEEMIT journey with Venice! For me it will always remain a special place as we renewed our vows here. We had planned an Italy trip for our anniversary and we decided to get a gown, a tux and hire a local photographer to mark the special day. The local photographer took us to some great locations not known to tourists. It was an exciting day!

Where to Stay
We preferred staying in Old Venice. The biggest challenge here is that since the houses are old, they do not have lifts. So you need to lug your own luggage up flights of stairs. New Venice has modern apartments and hotels but you miss on the charm of the canals at night.

What to do
There's definitely quite a bit to see in Venice, but a Gondola Ride should not be missed. Although they can be a bit expensive, try getting an individual Gondola and not share with others.

I am not here promoting the photographer but if anyone is interested in creating a magical holiday in Venice do reach out to us at fourblissfulfeet@gmail.com and I will share the contact with you.
