Touring Victoria, BC, Canada miniseries pt1 - YYJA airport

Hello Steem. This is my first part of a mini series I am trying out on Steem and it is featuring Victoria's YYJA international airport. This would be one of the first areas of Victoria that you would see if you were to come here so it seemed suitable for a first part of this series.

The airport is actually fairly far outside of the city. It is technically in an outer suburb of the lower island called Sidney. Sidney is also the home of the main ferry connection between the lower island and the mainland of B.C. (Vancouver). Sidney is about 30 minutes outside of the city of Victoria by car along the main highway routes.


The airport is actually quite small. Ive always found that surprising since it is the only airport for the city of Victoria which is the capital of the province of B.C.

Even thought it is a small airport, I've always found it to be a rather nicely built and styled building. The layout is open and easy to navigate. Oh and of course, you can't have a Canadian commercial scene without the great Canadian icon that is Tim Horton's.

I would have liked to take more pictures and show more areas of the airport but due to the relatively sensitive areas and paranoia surrounding the security of airports in general these days, I didn't want to go too far with it and get in trouble.
