The square is so big that I had to use the wide angle lens on my phone to get it entirely in the frame. That's why it seems that the tower, the Torre del Mangia, is leaning forward. The tower dates from 1348 and is about 102 meters tall. The tower was built as a symbol of the power and wealth of the city.
