The Canary Islands saw through the Lens of Lukas Farlan
The Canary Islands are one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe. The Spanish Islands lying just off the coast of Morocco are really a cluster of volcanic islands. The territories that are detached from the rest of Spain are also enormously rich in biodiversity. Lukas Farlan is a student photographer who presented another image of the islands that is in contrast with the typical tourist destination.
The Isles knew by the hordes of tourists who assault the beaches and sometimes even never leave their luxury hotels. Farlan found a way to educate some of them in the richness of the islands; in fact, people who spend a holiday on these islands have no idea how beautiful and fascinating this place is.
He concentrated his photography on the Island of Tenerife and the lesser known and smaller La Gomera. His photographic harvest was excellent and he came back with hundreds of beautiful pictures. This young artist knows what he is doing that is clear when you see his photographs.
He has mixed feelings about his endeavor; he hopes that more tourists will appreciate the hidden beauty of the islands and on the other side, he hopes that those parts of the islands will stay not corrupted by mass tourism.
