Mysterious Landscapes

Cherries Growing.

There is an amazing flower show that happens in late April and early May in the orchard- but it is just the beginning. As the petals fall the remaining parts of the flower, now brown, begin to swell from within. By mid May another show entirely is just beginning as the green sweet cherries rapidly begin to grow and shed the remainder of the dried flowers...

This photo was taken on May 10, 2009 as I headed into the orchard to get the sprayer pump ready for the season's work.

To my Steemit explorer friends,

I have probably taken over a million photographs of the natural world since childhood; this is a daily series of some of those I most treasure.

Where They are From

  1. Many are from an organic orchard that I created on the hill above my home. When you are raising trees from saplings you are out in all weather at all hours and see remarkable things.

  2. Some are from my art studio and my efforts there- especially those on behalf of the Tibetan people.

  3. Still others are from my wanderings in the wilderness with compass and map my companions. Many are featured from posts I have created here on Steemit and I will link to those whenever possible if you wish to read more of the how, when and where.

Please upvote if you liked this post, and follow for more journeys through our mysterious and amazing world. And please comment as I greatly value these and will answer any questions you may have (and generally go to look at your posts of course since I consider a group of friends the most valuable possible outcome from efforts on Steemit.

Thank you for visiting @a-alice :)

I'm curious, with cherry flowers, fragrant or not, yeah?

I miss you friend :)

Yes, but it is more subtle than apples. I'm back now and delighted to be able to visit you :)

Beautiful photo, That compact camera is more impressive then I have thought

Thanks @bitcoinman! :) Yes the Powershot G6 was very good (was because it fell in the stream). It actually is on the border between the compacts and the Digital SLRs- it had almost a full size lens and body and just about all of the control you get with a DSLR. It drove me crazy in the beginning until I figured out how to take pictures with it...
These days it's the EOS 70D- and that one takes really amazing shots.

I never experienced going to a cherry blossom orchard but they do look fantastic.

It is very worth seeing my friend! :)
