May Bank Holiday 2017 in Brussels With My Twin !!🇧🇪
My favourite picture from The weekend ! But il come back to that !!!
We were getting the Eurostar to Brussels ! Fab way of travelling soooo quick and easy and I’d truly recommend it !!!
We had to go down to London the day before as we had an early train ! But that was fine with us! Lucy took me to steak and co which was amazinggg!
But il show you our journey on the train to London first !!!
We do things in style us twins!
And my steak
We grabbed an early night at a hotel near kings cross station !! As the Eurostar goes out of st pancreas
We were buzzing after our croissant and coffee we grabbed at the station and headed through to departures basically !!! Different part of the station to all the other trains :)!! So simple though !! We got our call for the train and went to the platform found our seat number and got settled !! It only took like 2 hours and we were in BRUSSELS it was amazing !!!
We got the map out and made our way to our hotel which wasn’t far at all - the hotel was lovely and clean , easy check in and cool decor!!
It was the Radisson Hotels but Red - just apart of the company - no complaints though and not too far from the centre it’s a lovely walk and il show you that as we go along !
We settled in and got a bag packed to go exploring because it was only early afternoon :):) we went for a wander ... on the map everything seemed quite far away but we had lots to look at on our way to the Grand Market and only 2 days to do it in...
First stop was
The Royal Palace Of Brussels 🇧🇪
The blue skies just set off the buildings on such a lovely day :) and we continued to walk and this is what we came across next 😍😍
It was soooo peaceful just walking round the gardens - crazy how this could be in a middle of a city !! We were pleasantly shocked !!! And had to sit down for a beer after that before heading to the main event !!! ...
So normally there is a massive display of flowers in the square but it wasn’t the season for it so it was just packed with people and restaurants - the atmosphere was fab !!
Even better at night as you can tell from the first picture! But il explain a little bit later on what we did that evening :)
We continued exploring all the little shops, we went into a chocolate making shop and watched a guy do that for ages it seemed! Making truffles :)
We came across a massive flower pot ...
There was also a beautiful church near by too! As it was a few years ago now ! I can’t quite remember the order or names of everything so bare with me !!! The best way to experience somewhere is go! Not just read about it!! But I quite like doing these blogs abit like a diary to keep my memories written down!!
Anyway .. the church!
Just coming across things I think is the best way to explore no map just wander! Also one of the main cartoons they seem to watch here is ...
We stopped for waffles after that before heading off to find the famous fountain which we thought was going to be amazing but in actual fact it was tiny and all the souvenirs were based on it too ... it was down some random street on one of the corners nothing major about it !!!
Manneken Pis
Waffles were yummy though haha can you tell!!!
What was next ...
We headed back to our hotel freshen up after travelling early and exploring ! We had a little nap too before walking back to the main square for an amazing dinner (Mussels in Brussels) Drinks and listening to some lush music :)! Everyone was friendly and with, like I said early a welcoming atmosphere :)!
Day 2
We hadn’t pay for breakfast in our hotel because we thought we would go to a cute little local coffee place and have something to eat so that’s what we did in a little square we walk through to get to the main square ...
So we kind of did our own thing for abit the next morning as Lucy wanted to go to a music museum and I didn’t !!! So I had a look around the little shops got my shot glass and some ice cream well actually it wasn’t ! It was more like a moose but my god it was Devine!
Lucy was proper jealous so we had to get her one when she came out the museum like agesssss later !!! We grabbed a sandwich and headed to a local park to read for a while and chill ! It was so nice we thought why not !!!!
We thought we’d have an afternoon beer on the way back for our last evening ...
It was in a cute little square again music playing! Think we were just avoiding going back and packing!! But in the end we did , got ready for our last evening :) headed back to the Grand Market for our last dinner ... can you guess ...
HARD ROCK!! so I could grab my shot glass!!
And that’s our weekend in Brussels 🇧🇪 Done really !! The Eurostar was as easy going back and our little twin adventure was over :(
We vow to do something again !!! So watch this space !
