The Ikogosi Warm and cold Spring gives you the chance to explore a mysterious warm and cold spring flowing abreast inform of a confluence, each maintaining their temperature features. The Warm Springs is situated at Ipole Iloro Efon Alaaye Road, Ikogosi, Ekiti State, Nigeria. It's surrounded by a dense forest, the trees provides shed for the spring and also a form of canopy for tourists.
The volum of water flowing from the springs never increases or decreases, just constant and it's temperature remains the same all year round. Ikogosi spring is one of the finest tourist sites in Nigeria. there are also two different trees growing from the same source just at the meeting point of the springs. (it symbolises unity and harmony).
A lot of stories have been shared concerning the history of ikogosi warm spring. The most popular of all the historical tales says that the warm and cold water were the wives of a hunter, who turned into the spring magically after a long contest. The troublesome wife turned to the warm water while the peaceful wife turned to be the cold water still flowing from the same source. History revealed that the spring was discovered by a Missionary from Baptist in 1950. The warm spring has a temperature of about 70 degree centigrade from the source and 37 degree centigrade at the confluence. History shows as well that the water is medicinal: to heal infertility, aches, hypertension, arthritis etc. Tourist sometimes visit the tourist site for healing.
To spend more than a day, you need to book your accommodation prior your visit to the site.
The site is always at its peak from November to December (tourists visit the place for holiday).
if you want to relax in a peaceful and quiet environment, then February to April is the ideal time.
