Travel around Tanzania. Arusha and Manyara.
Hello to everyone!
I hope you were waiting for my new post about charming Tanzania!
As I promised, I begin the story of the amazing and beautiful Tanzania - the land of wild lions, Maasai and children.
In the course of my trip, I climbed eight times on the plane, and from the house to the safari I was separated only 3. From Domodedovo airport we first flew to Doha, the capital of Qatar, then, after an 8 hour shift, we went to the capital of Tanzania Dar es Salaam.
During the flight, the computer showed such crazy picture:
Dar-es-Salaam met us with rainy weather and fucked-up borderers, who shmoned us every 10 meters. They also have a transparent cube with a side of about 1 meter, where they throw all the lighters that they manage to take from the tourists. Security mf.
The transfer at this stupid airport lasted an hour and a half and we flew to Arusha on local airlines (in the photo, not the plane on which we flew).
The closer we got to Arusha, the better the weather became and I was pleased to observe the landscapes that were unusual for me:
Arriving in Arusha, we already met our guide. Here I really needed the English language, which I studied for 10 years. As the Russian-speaking guide is almost impossible to find there (and we eventually found it, but about it in another post), I was in our company for an interpreter.
Our guide, he's a driver, took us to our off-road cars:
After a brief acquaintance and a quick story about the country, we went to a nearby cafe to have lunch. The place where our new friend brought us was simply shocking and extremely interesting. There was a small but very colorful pond with statues of wild animals:
Having dined well, we went to the national park of Manyara, and right at the entrance we immediately saw wild monkeys:
After driving a few kilometers in the national park, you stood in a traffic jam. Straight as if he did not leave Moscow. Soon from the bushes slowly, grazing the cars with his huge body, the cause of the congestion appeared. A herd of elephants crossed the road, at this moment I first saw a wild elephant:
When traveling group the main thing is not to fall behind comrades:
But we met a herd of zebras! They, by the way, just like in the cartoon "Madagascar", quickly turn away from the curious tourists, so it's not always possible to make such a chic frame:
Often alongside, on the road, there are the bones of animals being eaten. Well, how else? This is a real wild nature!
But further for me it was a discovery that not all monkeys "hang out" on trees. Here is a whole bunch of monkeys in the middle of the field:
Apparently, we found them behind the seasonal migration.
After another kilometer, we came across a herd of antelope-gnu, which already hunted in full:
Since we arrived only at lunch, our first day of safari was very short, and we, full of impressions and emotions, went to our first lodge.
Lodge - this is a Tanzanian "chip" - mini-hotels in the middle of national parks. As a rule, these hotels offer a spectacular view of the savannah, wild animals can freely walk on them, and among the staff you can often meet representatives of the local Massai tribe in traditional clothes.
This was our first day in Tanzania. After this day, I realized that I prefer wildlife and watching animals more than beach rest, although before the trip I thought I would dream of an early flight from the mainland to Zanzibar.
To be continued!
