Traveller who have spent their holidays in Perak will no doubt miss out on a diary listing Ubudiah Mosque in Bukit Chandan, Kuala Kangsar as a sightseeing heritage destination.
This is because, the Ubudiah Mosque is also known as the Alexandria Mosque or the Royal Mosque is considered one of the most beautiful Muslim houses of worship in Malaysia.
Gold domes and mosque towers are evidence of the beauty of Islamic architecture. More precisely, the design of the mosque was influenced by 'saracenic' or Islamic-Indian architecture.
It was designed by AB Hubback, a government architect at the time, while the execution work was entrusted to Caufield, Perak's chief engineer.
