Dinajpur Central Bus Terminal

One of the names of the means of communication is the transport industry. Buses are a very easy means of transport in every place in Bangladesh. There are many parts of this bus transport industry such as long-distance buses, intercity bus services, inter-district bus services, and mail bus services. Today I will write about inter-district and mail bus services and about bus transport services from the bus terminal of Dinajpur, a larger district of Bangladesh. Although my preferred mode of transport is the train, I travel by bus most of the time because it is easy and always available.

Dinajpur Bus Terminal is a convenient means of communication with other districts and cities and for going from one place to another. Dinajpur Central Bus Terminal was established in 1993. It is located in the Mirzapur area of ​​Dinajpur. From here, buses run to Dinajpur-Rangpur, Dinajpur-Panchagarh, Dinajpur, Thakurgaon, Dinajpur-Nilphamari, Dinajpur-Bogra, and also to local upazilas and local towns.

Mail buses start operating from Dinajpur Central Bus Terminal every morning at 7 am and depart every 25 minutes for each destination. There are separate counters for each district. This service runs until 6 pm. Although the mail buses stop operating in the evening, local buses operate until 10 pm. Let's mention some mail bus fares.

The condition of the bus terminal is currently poor. No renovations have been done since 1994. As a result, many holes have been created in the bus terminal. The drainage system is poor. During the rainy season, water accumulates, which makes it difficult for passengers to move. At the same time, the buses are damaged. There are no toilet facilities for passengers at the bus terminal. The two that are there are in a poor condition, used by bus drivers and their staff. At the same time, they use them for washing and wiping the buses. The entire bus terminal is unclean and there is a lot of dust during the summer.

There are a few restaurants for passengers and bus staff to eat here, as well as some light snack shops. Dinajpur Bus Terminal has provided employment to a large population, which is a positive aspect. About 500 buses ply here every day, with 5 staff per bus, and many others are involved in it, such as ticket counter people, taking passengers to specific counters, and maintaining the time of each vehicle.

Dinajpur Bus Terminal passengers have to face some annoying inconveniences due to the hawker sales method and beggars, and the begging of the third gender is very annoying. There are some other problems such as carrying extra passengers which causes suffering. Dinajpur Bus Terminal, despite providing transportation services to passengers, cannot provide satisfactory quality services and many more reforms are needed at every place. Although the service is bad, buses are always available and this terminal is popular with everyone to reach the destination quickly.
