SC-S29|Geo-Quest Mystery – Week 6: The Final Reveal

Art was abandoned for science because of new discoveries. People no longer create sculptures to tell stories and retain history as they used to do before. Technology and science has taken control of the whole situation, making my final treasure spot an abandoned facility.

It's sad to say that a lot of people pass here on a daily basis, but fail to ponder over this symbolic place because its ground can be scary. Someone was buried there. That's a secret I discovered because of curiosity.

In the heart of my City, there's a place that seems to be abandoned. This place is found in one of the biggest universities in my state. It has an area or facility that houses a lot of information about our past. It's between two facilities, in the middle of a garden.

1001843437.jpg

This area is found in the UNIVERSITY OF UYO CAMPUS and as a student, I didn't really give a damn about this place until something struck me some days back that made me look into details to see if I can discover any secrets as people love burying secrets in the most unassuming places. This University is located in Uyo, Nigeria and it's an area for monument.

Why it feels like a final treasure for my Geo-Quest journey is because of all the things that may have stunned me, nothing is more stunning as when you see a date of inscription covered in cobwebs in a place people barely enter.

1001780772.jpg

When you see a tomb that's hidden in a monument and most people can't see this because they don't look closely. I felt it would expose me to dates I may discover some hidden secrets and what certain symbols stand for.

If you want to get to this place, you'll have to locate the first gate of the University of Uyo, Town Campus and this can be located by the bridge landmark across the Dakkada roundabout. If you're coming from Plaza or Ikot-Ekpene, you'll have to stop by the roundabout. From the roundabout, you'll see the bridge or walkway. From the bridge, you'll see the first gate. Just go straight until you see the monument area by your left. That's how you can get here.

Final Narrative

If you want to connect my Geo-Quest journey from the origin point, you'll see that this place I'm talking about has every reason to be my final chapter because I have discovered a secret I've been looking for and the sounds, colours, routes and history led me to this area to discover secrets that are hidden.

“This is my final reveal for Geo-Quest Mystery because it reminds me of what happened during the women's liberation campaign in the 1900 down. Women were deprived of a lot of things which includes education, politics and a whole lot.

1001780794.jpg

1001780790.jpg

1001780772.jpg

Their liberation as shown in a monument of a woman breaking the weapon that keeps them mute provides a mystic secret behind the truth surrounding this event because a lot of rumours were heard and some people didn't even know who started the campaign. If you check this stone, you'll see the name of the person inscribed. This is a dark secret because if they had found the woman, they would have killed her for making women protest against certain things.

Week 1The Origin point tells me that there's always a starting point for every curiosity. It could be a sign board or object in a street and you'll start your search from here. My origin point made me curious into land quest.
Week 2Week 2 of sounds made me understand that in every chaos, there are sounds that still dominate if we listen to those comforting sounds. It may be the weirdest of sounds but can trigger our quest for answers as to where the sound is coming from. Sounds can lead us to paths and can also lead us to danger if followed. In this week, I learnt how to capture even the tinest of sounds by listening in the midst of disruptive sounds
Week 3The dominant colour highlighted in week 3 taught me that there's always something I must know when I go to a place that has one particular colour and my quest to know why the repetitive colours may lead to details i may be interested in. I never knew what the Orange Colour in my state stood for until after visiting the renovated plaza and being curious about it. All thanks to this challenge.
Week 4Though I didn't participate in the challenge, I discovered that history is very important in getting to find out certain things. Why is this monument here? What's the story about this monument? How does it affect it? Let's trace the history of what happened. Our history tells a lot about us and failure to be curious about our history can lead to ignorantly doing certain things in certain places.
Week 5This made me see that for every route, there's an origin point, we hear sounds, we see colours pointing to something, we get to see tomb of people or other historical artifacts and the likes in this route. It made me discover a lot of paths one can use to get to a particular place in cases of danger
Week 6This shows that after combining those 5 elements, you'll finally find something that reveals secrets, historical background and may make your search complete.

Week 61001843419.jpg

I started somewhere which was my Origin Point— I followed the Sounds that are repetitive and echoing — I saw numbers, objects or signs that depicts one particular Colour and this colour keeps directing me to something. — I walked past monuments of great men who had died and then looked into their History to know what they did and why they are on this route. — Now there's a particular Route that connects me to the sound I heard, saw the same colour and kept seeing monuments. — I then bumped into an area manager where this monument are much with hidden secrets buried them. People are passing this place but no one dares to enter. Why is this place abandoned? It could have what I was looking for. This is my Final Chapter

I already stated why this place is my final chapter though. So whenever I observe a particular dominant colour, I should do well to quest for more because there are things attached to it. Same with all other elements. It can be knowledgeable and lead me to find answers.

The video is at the end of this post.

The final acrostic message

Sunlight makes these dark lifeless stones shine.
Every stone has a scary grave with a date.
Cobwebs covers their secrets
Removing these webs help you see a dark myth
Each lifeless stone is important and older than me
Truth is found and myth is solved

Final Chapter

We do hear that curiousity kills the cat. That was then, not now because even the cat is wiser now, not to allow curiosity kill it. Most times the overlooked place is the place with hidden facts and gems. Because people aren't doing a particular thing doesn't mean we should follow suit, while applying caution and safety.

Thank you for your participation in SC-S29 | Geo-Quest Mystery – Week 6: The Final Reveal.
Here is the updated evaluation of @bossj23 – “SC-S29|Geo-Quest Mystery – Week 6: The Final Reveal”, following the official Week 6 rubric (with the proof video confirmed as fully compliant).

Evaluation Summary (Week 6)

CriteriaScoreComments
1. SteemAtlas Pin & description (city/country + place type + “final treasure” logic)1.8 / 2.0The SteemAtlas pin is clear and complete: University of Uyo, Uyo (Nigeria) with coordinates and usable directions. The “final treasure” reasoning is strong (abandoned monument garden, hidden tomb/inscription, overlooked history). To reach full points: keep the place category consistent and explicitly choose one official category in the main pin section (you mention “Monument,” but later the category list is mixed).
2. Creativity + fairness of the Mystery Coordinate puzzle (category + N/C/S + acrostic)1.4 / 2.0Very creative concept (multiple monuments + mystery/rumor framing), and you include North/Center/South + an acrostic. However, the puzzle is not fully clean in the Week 6 expected answer format: one section asks solvers to identify what each monument stands for, while Week 6 expects a clear single target: category + N/C/S code + acrostic word. Also, the North clue (“strong connections on mobile devices”) can be broad unless you anchor it more directly to your location.
3. Speem.watch proof video (20–60s, clear place + final reveal line + reason)2.5 / 2.5Confirmed excellent and fully compliant: the video clearly shows the place, includes the required “final reveal” line and reason, and follows the 20–60 second format. Strong authenticity and good visual documentation.
4. Storytelling quality (final chapter feeling + connects Week 1→5)2.5 / 2.5Outstanding season connection. You explicitly link Week 1–6 and show how origin/sound/color/history/route led to the “final reveal” discovery. It reads like a true final chapter with purpose and closure.
5. Engagement (solve others + thoughtful comments)1.0 / 1.0Engagement is clearly present: you interact in comments, respond thoughtfully, and clarify puzzle elements when participants attempt solutions.

Final Score: 9.2 / 10

General Comment

This is a high-quality Week 6 entry with one of the strongest “mystery” atmospheres in the season (abandoned space, hidden tomb, inscriptions, rumors, and symbolism). Your storytelling and proof video are top-tier. The only area holding it back from a near-perfect score is puzzle clarity/format consistency and keep it tightly aligned to the Week 6 expected solution format (Category + N/C/S + one clearly defined acrostic word) so solvers worldwide can answer cleanly.

Thanks for the review ma, but I'm not just pointing to one monument. It's a garden where monuments are kept. So I decided to pin in anywhere, as long as it's in the garden. The garden is wide and contains series of monuments. That's why I rather placed it in the middle.
