A Great Picnic in Canberra
I arrived at this beautiful place, which is kind of a hill station where the air whispered secrets of eucalyptus plants and scented breezes and the sun is seldom out.
But one thing is sure: when it comes out, its golden hues spread across the city.
My tummy said, "Time for lunch, buddy," as I stepped into a lunching area, full of indoor and outdoor sitting arrangement.
Lunch here promised more than sustenance; it was a symphony for my senses, as the atmosphere was great and there was beauty all around.
I settled at a table overlooking walking beauties, ordering a sandwich and cup of coffee and the entire area brimming with the aroma of steaming foods. I could see each one enjoying flavors.
That coffee warmed my body against the crisp mountain chill. Laughter from fellow strollers mingled with the distant call of Black Mountain's birds, turning the meal into a shared celebration of simple joys.
After finishing my coffee, I felt recharged, ready for the day's adventures.
Bellied full, I headed to the bustling market area where vibrant stalls overflowed with local artisans, mostly aboriginals, selling different items. And of course people are watching everything with great interest, talking playfully with vendors.
I bought nothing but kept walking and watching. The air buzzed with street musicians strumming medals; shopping here wasn't just retail therapy, but it was immersing in the heartbeat of local craftsmanship.
As the afternoon sun dipped, I boarded the iconic toy train, a wonder chugging through flowers, tulips to be exact, honking merrily; it carved through gardens, offering panoramic views that stole my breath.
Now the wind feeling chilly, I leaned out, heart soaring with childlike happiness on this joyride; it was a perfect end to the trip with indulgence, discovery of joy, and fun.
