A trip in local transport in Vrindavan

in Traveling Steem6 days ago

Roads crowded by devotees from Prem Temple to Iscon Temple. I was enjoying this trip listening to driver' dialogues. I saw a woman walking carelessly in the middle of the road.

We sat into a auto-rickshaw on Vrindavan's bustling roads, the air thick with incense, chants, and the honk of endless vehicles. Devotees crammed every corner, saffron-clad sadhus, families with kids clutching prasad, and wide-eyed pilgrims coming from far off places.

We were heading from Prem Mandir's glowing arches to ISKCON Temple, the short ride turning into a vibrant adventure amid the crowd.

The driver, a wiry man with a booming voice, gripped the wheel like a chariot reins. "Watch out guys! He yelled over the engine's sputter, weaving through crowd and other rickshaws.

One iritated man on a scooter pulled alongside, shouting back, "Vrindavan is facing tsunami because it is beginning of Radha Ashtami!"

Laughter erupted as I wanted to say to driver, "Bro, you're behaving like Swami ji driving a 'Bhakti Express'

I leaned back, grinning, the wind whipping my face as bhajans blared from a nearby temple. "I showed my wife the Chardham Resort and told her we could get good rooms here.

The driver shouted again, dodging a group dancing with kartals. He asked another devotee, "Come on, ISKCON, 10 Ruppes only, you can get pure veg, no tension!"

The temples' domes loomed ahead, gopis' colors splashing the sky. What a ride! This chaos felt like bhakti itself, crowded, alive, divine. Heart full, I stepped out, paid, already missing the dialogues.

Our jam-packed auto-rickshaw zipping along Vrindavan's devotee-swarmed roads, from Prem Mandir's radiant spires straight to ISKCON Temple. The vibe was electric, the pilgrims in vibrant kurtas, and the constant hum of "Radhe Krishna."

Our driver, a chatty guy bantering loudly. " This is everyday Vrindavan! From Prem Mandir to ISKCON.

Their dialogues, folksy, fervent that turned traffic into a temple sermon. Horns blared, but joy drowned them out. As ISKCON's golden kalash gleamed, I felt blessed.

This local ride? Pure Vrindavan magic, crowds, chaos, and all was fun. We reached our destination, paid and got down.
