Four Years on Steemit: May 13th, 2026
Wow, can you believe it? Today marks four incredible years since I first joined and hit "publish" on my debut Steemit post. Back in 2022 on may 14th, when I saw this gem of a decentralized platform where words could literally pay dividends, even if that was not my real target. But everyone will agree with this: money is always money, target or no target.
Little did I know it would become my digital home, my creative outlet, and a lesson in resilience. But was that as easy as it was said? No, I must bring @disconnect in the story at this stage.

My early days were humble; I was kind of a lost child in the market separated from parents. I wrote about everything from business to fiction and from travel to destinations; I posted about street food adventures to personal musings on life in Australia and India. Thanks to @josevas217 at this stage.
But one thing that encouraged me most was those big upvotes that came from nowhere and felt like gold! I learned the ropes the hard way, but once I learned the secret of moderation, curating content, engaging in comments, and riding the waves of algorithm changes, there was no stopping. Thanks to @stef1 for teaching me ethics and rules of curation—no partiality. Unfortunately not many believe in this, including the big ones.
Steemit taught me blockchain basics: no gatekeepers (but is that really true?), just pure community power via Steem tokens. I've earned rewards in my wallet, like real-life treats. I bought a new camera for better photos, but once I lost that, I am no longer using a camera but my phone.

Over 4 years, I've posted hundreds of times, built a network of like-minded creators, and even collaborated on contests. I faced challenges. I felt a lot of them, especially discouraged when markets go down constantly. As you know, it's still almost at its lowest, but what difference does it make for me?
But the highs? My words spark discussions across the globe, from India to Bangladesh and Nigeria to Pakistan, and I saw newbies thrive because of my tips when I ran a campaign for newbies as a Steem representative. I must thank @weisser-rabe at this stage for guiding me on what to do and what not to do.
Steemit isn't just a blog but it's a movement. In a world of censored feeds, it empowers voices like mine. Grateful for the @steemit team, my friends, and every one who encouraged me. Here's to year 5: more stories, deeper dives into Web world, and helping others cash in on their passion if they do it honestly!
