The Angry Birds
You can see these birds are fiercely protective parents. When I came out in my courtyard they took as threat to their nest.
They are making loud, urgent calls to alert their mate and chicks and to warn me to sty away. These alarm calls are sharp and repetitive, on high-pitch.
Trust me I never intend to harm them and not even used this fan for the last one month but they always feel offended whenever any of us come out in this area.
I feel they serve the same purpose to defend their newborns. One of the three has already grown enough and flew away but they believe we have hidden him somewhere.
Some times I feel they can even attack with their beaks and claws, and perform distraction displays to keep us away from the nest.
I envy their protectiveness includes guarding feeding territories and rapidly feeding or brooding young to keep them safe.
This strong parental instinct increases the chicks’ chance of survival in a world full of dangers. This behavior shows how deeply birds care for their offspring and I favor those that vigorously defend their young ones.
I am laughing out loud when I saw they have eaten a few mangoes and pomegranates in protest.
I applause their noisy, bold responses are signs of devotion, not malice, and that sure plays a vital role in reproductive success.
