Asolo: The Charming City of a Hundred Horizons
He continues to maintain that in Italy there are small villages that are sometimes worth more than the tourist cities that most people who come to Italy visit, and today I want to show you one of these villages that has always remained in my heart, and it is a truly beautiful place that is located in the province of Treviso and is also known as the city of 100 Horizons for its breathtaking views of the Azuleni hills but also of the entire surrounding plain. This village is called Asolo and I have certainly spoken about it again and shared some photos here on Steemit.

The village has about 9,000 inhabitants and has been included in the most beautiful villages in Italy for several years, but above all its history begins with the Roman Empire. It was dominated by various peoples from the Venetians to the Romans to the Ezzelini to the Scaligeri and finally its splendor arrived with the Republic of Venice in the 14th century which created here with Caterina Cornaro a beautiful court and a beautiful castle but above all this place has always been a refuge for intellectuals such as Eleonora Duse but also Freya Stark.
Here you can visit the Rocca which is a 12th century fortress on Mount Ricco at about 300 meters above sea level and you can reach with a beautiful walk the castle of Queen Cornaro which is a beautiful medieval structure located right in the center of the town the cathedral and Palazzo del museo civico and the beautiful Piazza Garibaldi which is the beating heart of the village with the Maggiore fountain and here you can find various cafes and taverns and still today they are very popular with people who come from all over Italy.
To reach the village, let's say that a car is essential. In fact, it takes me about an hour and a half from Verona and it's more or less 130 km, while by train you can take the train that arrives at Treviso Centrale and from there a bus that takes you to Asolo in about 30 minutes.
Of course, in my opinion the most beautiful activity to do when you see these places is to be able to observe these beautiful houses, these beautiful medieval architectures and take a slow walk through the streets of this beautiful village. Already here you have a truly beautiful experience and, among other things, it is completely free.
