Mondovì and its beautiful hot air balloons
Today in this post, I want to show you a charming Piedmontese village in the province of Cuneo, famous throughout the world for its beautiful Baroque historic center, but above all because every year the International Aerostatic Rally takes place here, a very important event. And this year is the thirty-sixth time this event has taken place.
practically every year, about thirty hot air balloons from Italy but also from Europe offer practically free flights and evening shows that over the years have become very famous on social media, and that this year for the first time I was able to see with my own eyes even if unfortunately I was not able to see the final show which was very beautiful.
So one of the reasons to come to this place, roughly between January 3rd and 6th, is to be able to admire this event and, if you are a little more daring than me, also go up in these beautiful hot air balloons and take a free ride.
but in reality, in my opinion, the beauty of Mondovì is also visiting its historic center, a municipality that now has about 20,000 inhabitants But which was founded in the 12th century and has Napoleon Mondovì has been defined the most beautiful town in the world precisely for its noble palaces and its baroque churches.
However, reaching Mondovì is very simple. In fact, from Milan it takes about two hours by car taking the A4 motorway towards Turin and exiting right at the Mondovì Alba exit, while by train you can reach Turin Porta Susa and then a regional train to Mondovì which takes about an hour. Usually when these events take place there are many car parks available with shuttles that take you right to the place where this event takes place.
I hope you visit this place as soon as possible. I wanted to give you a little testimony and how, in addition to visiting the town, you can participate in this beautiful event. See you soon.
