Assalamu Alaikum.
Hello everyone,
I am @sojib1996
From #Bangladesh
Today, in the four week of Steemit Challenge 30, I will be participating in @max-pro Sir SLC30-W4 | 24 Hours Travel Reporter : City Landmark Zone. - competition, I hope everyone enjoys it.

Today I will share a historical fort of our country; I hope everyone will like it, and I will pin this location on the Steem Atlas map.
What kind of City Landmark Zone have you visited? Briefly introduce it. |
I recently visited the historical establishment of Idrakpur Fort in Munshiganj city. Idrakpur Fort is an important city landmark zone of ours, which carries the memory of the architecture and history of the Mughal period. Although Munshiganj is a city, the fort has maintained a kind of historical silence amidst the busyness of the city.

It is known that this fort was built in 1660 AD during the time of Mughal Subadar Mir Jumla II. At that time, the river was the main means of communication. This fort was basically built to prevent attacks by pirates and enemies. The structure of the fort is quite strong and sturdy, and its walls are thick and round in design. There is a high courtyard inside, where you can see the surroundings well if you stand, and from there the guards used to keep watch.
This fort is easily accessible as it is located in Munshiganj; by bus or river launch, it is open from 10 am to 6 pm and is closed on Sundays.
When I entered the fort, I felt like I had stepped into history. The old red brick walls, ancient architecture and the peaceful surroundings gave me a different feeling. It was also quite enjoyable to climb the fort and see the surrounding scenery. Many people come here in the afternoon. Some take pictures, some try to learn about history, and some just come to spend time in the open air. The fort is currently protected as a protected archaeological site. The local administration and the Archaeology Department take care of it, so for me this place is not just a tourist spot but a living proof of our past heritage. After visiting here, I realised that history is not only in the pages of books—it survives in such sites.
How were the services and history both inside and outside? (With pictures + prices, videos) |
When I visited Idrakpur Fort, I liked the atmosphere both inside and outside. There is a ticket counter near the entrance outside the fort from where you have to buy a ticket and enter inside. There is a beautiful parking lot outside, but there is no fee to park here. After entering, there is a signboard about the history of the fort. There are some seating areas inside and outside, where people rest. In the afternoon, many people come to visit with their families and friends. There are people on duty near the gate for security, so the place is safe, and people from other countries come here to visit this fort.

When you enter, the first thing you see is the old red brick walls and the round structure. The atmosphere inside is calm and open. There is a high courtyard in the middle, where you can see the surroundings when you go up. There are stairs and a gate to go up; it is located very high from the ground. There are small holes in the four walls of this fort where cannons and other weapons were kept to attack the enemies. There is a large pond in the middle and a sitting area on the other side of the pond. Although there are not many modern facilities here, as a historical place, as much as is necessary has been preserved.

From a historical point of view, the Idrakpur fort is quite important; it was built to protect the river route during the Mughal period. Earlier, the river route was the mode of transportation, and pirates used to attack during this transportation. At that time, this fort was used to prevent pirate attacks. The thick walls of the fort and its high location show that it was built for defence. Looking at the structure of the fort, I can understand how strong and well-planned the architectural style of that time was.

Overall, the interior and exterior environment of the Idrakpur fort satisfied me. The touch of history and the open environment combined make the place really worth seeing.

What is the demand for tourists inside and outside the place? |
I think the demand for tourists in the Idrakpur fort area is fairly good. Especially during holidays and afternoons, there are a lot of people here; not only local people, but also many people from the surrounding districts come to visit.

Being a historical place, school and college students also come in groups for educational tours. Outside the fort, there is usually a large crowd of people visiting with their families. Many people spend time sitting in the open environment, taking pictures, making TikTok videos, and watching children play. Therefore, tourists have a high demand for outdoor seating, a clean environment, and safety. Since there is a flower garden inside, many people like to enter the garden and take beautiful pictures with the flowers. There are small food shops outside the fort.

Tourists are mainly interested in knowing the history inside. Everyone is interested in climbing the high square in the middle and looking around. What is interesting here is that there is a tunnel here that could have easily been used to go to other forts, but it is no longer like before. This makes it interesting for visitors to see.
I think the popularity of the place is gradually increasing. People are now becoming more interested in history and heritage. Overall, Idrakpur Fort is now known as an important and sought-after historical tourist destination.

When I visited the Idrakpur Fort, the entire place seemed like a living symbol of history to me. As soon as I entered, I saw the old red brick walls—thick as they were—which bear the marks of Mughal architecture. The construction of the walls shows how strongly they were built for defence.
There is a high circular square in the middle of the fort, which is the most important historical landmark and was used to keep watch over the surroundings. When I went up there, I felt as if some soldiers from the past were guarding and I was going to meet them. The open spaces and high walls all around prove that it is a defensive fort.

The arched design of the entrance and the curved design of the walls are also another sign of Mughal architecture. There are information boards in some places where the time and purpose of the fort are briefly clear.
All in all, every brick, wall and square of the Idrakpur Fort tells a story of the past. In my experience, it's not just a tourist destination but a real opportunity to see history up close.
