Decentralized Storage Networks and the Future of Cloud Computing

We are living in the era of decentralised storage networks whether we like it or not and the earlier we accept that, the better. When it comes to decentralised storage networks, it has helped to change the way we actually think when it comes to the cloud computing.

A lot of companies and even people now even store their data in a centralised cloud computing. Even though it is actually fast and easy to use, it always comes with its own problems such as the high cost and even the probability of the data been leaked.

Decentralized storage networks work in a different way. Instead of storing data in one central place, they spread it across many computers around the world. These computers are usually owned by different people.

Technologies like Blockchain make this possible by keeping records secure and transparent. Platforms such as Filecoin and Storj allow users to store their files safely without depending on a single company.

For me I love the decentralised system because it helps to give more control to the users. What do I mean by that? With the decentralised storage now, you are rest assured that there is no single company that actually owns your data which always happen when centralised cloud computing system is involved.

This goes a long way to reduce the tendency of your data been hacked or generally I will call it censorship. This also helps to support privacy which for me is very important most especially in today digital world.

However, decentralized storage still has some challenges. It may be slower than traditional cloud services, and not everyone understands how to use it yet. Also, internet access and technical knowledge are still needed to make it work well.

For me, I strongly believe that the decentralised storage networks is the future. It has the potential of actually shaping the future of cloud computing. We might not have entered the era yet fully, but I am so sure it is just a matter of time. We will soon be in the era of decentralised storage networks.
