Nodes and their types

Assalamu Alaikum

How are you? By Allah's grace, I'm doing very well.

The most important element of the decentralized network of blockchain technology is 'Nodes'. Simply put, each computer, server or device connected to a blockchain network is called a node. The blockchain is not stored on a central server, but rather all its data or ledgers are copied on the computers of thousands of nodes spread around the world. These nodes are connected to each other and continuously exchange information, verify new transactions and ensure the security of the entire network. It is impossible to imagine the existence of a blockchain without nodes.

1. Full Nodes

Full nodes are the real guardians of the blockchain. These nodes download and store the complete history or data of every transaction made on the blockchain network from the beginning to the present day on their computers. Their main task is to strictly verify each new block and transaction in the network according to the rules of the blockchain. If fraud is detected in a transaction, the full node automatically cancels it. The security of Bitcoin or any other crypto basically depends on these full nodes.

2. Light Nodes / SPV Nodes

Light nodes or lightweight nodes do not download the huge data of the entire blockchain like full nodes. They only store the short information of each block or 'Block Header'. Due to low storage or processing power, our mobile wallets or ordinary laptops act as light nodes. They cannot independently verify transactions, but rather rely on full nodes to ensure the authenticity of transactions.

3. Mining Nodes

The main function of mining nodes is to create new blocks in the blockchain. These nodes are usually high-powered computers or ASIC devices, which solve complex mathematical puzzles and convert transactions into a block. Each mining node must also be a full node, because they cannot create new blocks without verifying transactions. They receive mining rewards after successfully creating a block.

4. Masternodes

A masternode is a type of specialized full node that performs some additional and important duties in addition to general verification of the network. Such as completing instant transactions, making private transactions anonymously, and participating in network governance or voting. To operate a masternode, users have to stake a large amount of cryptocurrency in the network, and in return, they receive regular dividends.

Conclusion

In short, nodes are the pillars of the blockchain that make its decentralization and security a reality. While full nodes maintain strict rules, light nodes make crypto accessible to ordinary users, mining nodes create new chains, and masternodes manage special features. It is through the combined and coordinated work of all these types of nodes that a blockchain network remains 100% secure and operational without the intervention of any central institution. Today's discussion concludes here. I hope you've found it interesting. Please share your thoughts on today's topic. Prayers for everyone. May everyone be well. Amen.
