Basics of Steem Blockchain (Part 40) : Ethical Use of Content : Rewrite

INTROThe Tron Fan Club is a specialized community working on some specific topics. As a moderator of the community, I am regularly sharing several tutorials to help newbies. In this series of tutorials, I am trying to share the fundamental topics of Steem blockchain.
When you start writing about a topic that requires factual and technical information, you must collect data from authentic and reliable sources. This is very common while writing a topic. For example, if you are writing about planets in space, you cannot simply guess the distance of planets from the Sun or provide random scientific information. You need to gather accurate data from trusted sources such as NASA, ESA (European Space Agency), books, research journals or educational websites. These sources provide verified information. Following them you can write a good informative article. Without using authentic sources, there is a high chance of spreading incorrect information. That can reduce the quality and credibility of your writing.
After collecting information from reliable sources, you should not copy the content directly. This is strictly prohibited rather you need to understand the information first and then explain it in your own words and writing style. This process is called rewriting or “re-write.” In rewriting, the writer keeps the original meaning of the information but changes the sentence structure, vocabulary, tone, and presentation style. A good rewrite should sound natural and unique. It should reflect the writer’s own understanding and creativity. It should not be look like a copied text. Rewriting is very important in article writing or blogging in platform like steemit.
In a proper rewrite, at least 75 percent of the writing should be your own creation. Only a small portion of direct information, statistics, definitions, or quotations can be taken from other sources. Even when you use such information, you must mention the original source clearly. This is obvious especially when you write a good article in steemit. Giving credit to the source is an important part of ethical writing. It shows honesty and respect for the original creator’s work. This gives a source to find the original work as well. It is not just changing a few words from another article. It is a process of researching and organizing information in a fresh and original way. So for rewrite article keep them in mind in future. Thanks.
