The most beautiful love story of the 20th century on the Titanic: "We will live and die together"

More than 100 years have passed since the Titanic sank into the depths of the Atlantic Ocean, the story of Straus' love still makes people cry as they think.

"We have been together for many years, wherever you go, you will follow."

These are the words that Ida Straus had told her husband, Isidor Straus, when she was boarding the No. 8 Titanic rescue boat. However, the last minute, this woman changed the decision and stayed with her husband.

Before the fateful journey on the Titanic, the couple were famous for their intense love and bondage. Mr. Isidor often takes his wife to travel. Even if the husband is busy on a business trip or does not work with his wife, they write to each other.

Rosalie Ida Strauss, a German-born American, was born in Worms, Germany, in 1849. At the age of 22, Ida married her husband, Isidor Straus, an American businessman and co-owner. Macy's shop. Nearly 40 years of happy life, two people always give each other passionate love.

Early in 1912, the couple had a winter break in Europe and spent most of their time in Cape Martin, southern France. By early April, they decided to return home in New York City on the RMS Titamic. That is the time, the tragedy of their lives struck.

As the Titanic crashed into the iceberg, people ran all the way to the deck to try to get on the lifeboat. Due to crowded crowds, the captain decided to let women and children go first. Mrs Ida was placed on the lifeboat No. 08. Mr Isidor was later scheduled to be next to his wife for a business-class ticket, but the man declined the "privilege".

He told Colonel Gracie, "I will not go in front of other men."

Ida resolutely gave up the space for her newly hired maid from the UK, Ellen Bird. Ida gave Ellen's coat and said she did not need it anymore. Even when Colonel Gracie and other friends persuaded her, she refused and said she would never leave her husband.

"We lived together, we would die together."

And finally, Ida and Isidor were standing on the ship, hugging each other and watching everyone come to life. Witnesses of the sinking described the spectacle as "the best scene of love and fidelity for one another." Both died when the ship sank.

The body of Isidor Straus was found and brought back to Halifax, Nova Scotia before moving to New York. And Ida sank into the deep sea and disappeared forever.

At the monument to the Straus, Woodlawn, Bronx, New York, USA, there is a stone tablet with the famous quote from Song of Solomon:

"No matter how much water strangles love, even floods can not engulf it."

They lived beautifully and died splendidly.
