Answer: What are some examples of deep seated nepotism in the Trump admin?

For context, this is a question I answered on Quora

Just a few off the top of my head:

  • Appointed Ivanka’s father-in-law the ambassador to France.
  • Appointed Tiffany’s father-in-law the Senior Adviser on Arab and Middle Eastern Affairs
  • His son-in-law is an informal Middle East Policy advisor who will also likely be on the international executive board overseeing day-to-day operations of the post-war Gaza technate.
  • HHS secretary RFK Jr transferred interest in referral fees from ongoing litigation against Merck to his son.
  • The daughter of his chief of staff is the director of a lobbying firm, Continental Strategy, that is actively lobbying the Trump admin on behalf of the same clients her mother represented as co-chair of Mercury Public Affairs.
  • Kristi Noem hid the Strategy Group as a subcontractor in a $220 million no-bid contract for an ad campaign. The Strategy Group was not only involved in her 2022 Gubernatorial campaign and previously employed her senior adviser, Corey Lewandowski, the current CEO of the Strategy Group is her Assistant Homeland Secretary’s husband.
  • Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick’s sons Brandon and Kyle are the chairmen and executive vice chairmen of Cantor Fitzgerald where their father was previously CEO until February 2025. Cantor now offers to purchase rights to potential tariff refunds from companies that have paid tariffs that Howard Lutnick pushes, allowing their investors to speculate on court outcomes. Cantor also owns a 5% stake in Tether, the company that issues the USDT stable coin that the current commerce secretary has promoted.
  • Stefan Miller’s wife was appointed as an Advisor to DOGE and immediately got a communications advisor job working for Elon’s company AI company afterwards.
  • Appointed his son to screen Pentagon candidates, who later went on to become a partner at a VC firm that conveniently invests in small companies right before they receive millions of dollars in pentagon financing.

I’m sure there will be more nepotism in the next three years but this is where it stands as of the beginning of 2026.
