UPDATE 5: Tsunami warnings downgraded for Fukushima Prefecture
UPDATE 4: 6:38am: Fukushima Daichi and Daini plants had a tsunami wave around 1m high. There was a second wave that was “not very high”
UPDATE 3: Fukushima Reactor 3 Cooling System back online
UPDATE 2: https://www.rt.com/news/367714-fukushima-reactor-cooling-earthquake/
UPDATE 1: PRESS CONFERENCE LIVE NOW! Water Cooling System for the third reactor has suddenly failed. We are told this is not an immediate danger.. BUT the wave hasn't hit yet.

I just was watching the water drain out of this port city in Japan on a live cam. Now it's starting to come back in!

They say the epicenter of the quake is close to Fukushima. I haven't looked up the current status of the clean-up effort at the nuclear plant in Fukushima in some time. Last time I checked there is hundreds of above ground storage tanks holding thousands of gallons each of extremely radioactive water. Water so radioactive you would get radiation burns if it made contact with your skin.

I hope the wave is really small or there is adequate protection of these tanks. If the tanks were to break, the radioactive water would first come inland with the tsunami wave, seriously poisoning the entire countryside, then wash back out into the ocean. This would end up being the worst nuclear disaster by far.

Great minds think alike... seems as though your link isn't working properly.

Its a live feed. you have to click it to get it to work.

perhaps the grey live feed video being your main thumbnail resulted in less traffic to your post?

no cue, I added a bunch more links.
IM use to breaking storys first with live feed to get no votes when someone posts later they get mad upvotes. its the nature of steemit.

I've just noticed that I have not upvoted this :S Sorry

Oh goodness, not this again. I looked at a map that showed the spread of radioactive waste into the ocean after the initial event. It was scary, the area was 20 times the size of Japan itself.

Damn scary and crazy !!!

Thank you for an update.
That's just fucking great! No lesson learnt whatso-fucking-ever! :-S

watching it. crazy, thanks for the link :)

Resteemed. Excellent but sad news post
