In addition to the death toll, Sutopo also said 408 people were missing, 720 people were injured and 4,411 people were displaced. In addition, the total material loss last night consisted of 528 heavily damaged housing units, 1 lost swept away housing unit, 82 lightly damaged housing units to 1 severely damaged pier.

"The public is encouraged to remain calm and not be provoked by misleading issues. The emergency response update will continue to be delivered," he said.

Meanwhile, assistance has begun to enter the disaster site

Sutopo said that currently heavy equipment, dump trucks, refugee tents and food staples are urgently needed on location. A number of roads also cannot be passed, such as the Serang-Pandeglang connecting road which was cut off due to the tsunami, Tanjung Lesung highway due to fallen trees, to Anyer road in front of Puri Retno two which still cannot be passed by public transportation.
