The Walking Dead 8x13... is the show following its own logic?

During the first season, Rick and his group at the time got to the CDC (Center for Desease Control) and understood how people turned into walkers. Basically, everyone is infected and turn a few minutes/hours after they die, unless the cause of dead is a shot/stabbing to the brain.

Last episode, Saviors went ahead with their plan to attack the Hilltop with weapons stained with walker's guts and blood. The wounded survivors seemed to be ok, but they turned anyway during the night. It is possible that the usual infection caused by a wound spreaded faster but in previous seasons surely many characters with opened wounds had contact with blood from walkers and this did not cause a sudden death due to infection o fever.

Next episode will follow the main characters apparently attacking the compound where Eugene is manufacturing bullets, and probably we will learn more about Jadis' past while she holds Negan hostage. Let's see how that goes for her and also if Negan eventually is going to kill Simon for subordination.

PD: Carl was really annoying as a child, got better with years until they killed him. Now the show runners introduced an even worst child character with Henry...
