#ULOG 15 : Sinar Mas Oleochemical Business Focuses on the Expo Market

Sinar Mas Agribusiness and Food introduced the new name oleokimiany production facility, namely Sinar Mas Oleochemical. The oleochemical business unit is now focusing on working on the export market.
In building the oleochemical business 25 years ago, Sinar Mas Agribusiness and Food has set steps to transform the company from an Indonesian palm oil plantation company into an integrated global agro business player with offices in eight countries throughout Europe, America and Asia, and product sales in more than 70 countries.
"The oleochemical industry has played an important role in the growth and diversification of our business," said Jesslyne Widjaja, Sinar Mas Agribusiness and Food's Director of Corporate Strategy and Business Development in a statement on Monday (09/10/2018).
Oleochemicals made from palm oil are an important component of personal care products, food and beverages, household products, oil and gas and many other products. Now consumers are increasingly aware of the importance of environmental management and are well educated about health and safety.
Even more and more consumers are looking for safer, renewable, and natural ingredients in the products they use, especially those they apply to their skin and hair. Oleochemicals made from plant raw materials, which are easily biodegradable, become important.
"Our oleochemical industry aims to provide a one-stop solution for those who need oleochemicals to support the development of their own products. At present, more than 80 percent of our products are exported abroad, "said Madeline Tan, CEO of Sinar Mas Oleochemical.
Most of Sinar Mas Oleochemical's products are exported abroad, including Japan, Korea, Taiwan, the United States, Europe, the Middle East and others. The rest is absorbed by the local market.
