Before I start sharing my poem, I'd like to give a slight view on what an Omegaverse is. As most of my followers here know, I am into BL or Boy's Love. My ultimate reason for it is that I'm a huge fan of "Forbidden Love". When I read stories under "Romance" with hetero-couples, I prefer either a tragic one (something like they're not meant to be) or a fantasy one (human x vampire, vampire x demon, etc). In my mind, forbidden love is like going against all odds to be with someone who love. It's so pure (though not very innocent).

Going back, Omegaverse in the BL world is an alternative universe where males can get pregnant and can form their own family. However, the people in the alternate universe is categorized according to their status. To find out more, please read the poem below.

OMEGAVERSE

I am an ALPHA

I'm destined to rule
People loves me for my reputation
Don't you think that's cool?
But despite all the glamour and fame
I'm drowning due to the pressure, what a shame!
And when it comes to love, I'm imprisoned
For when I meet an Omega, I can be poisoned
What if I fell for a beta or another alpha?
Will love prevail over the curse of an omega?
I might be successful because of my status
But this same status will surely drive me to madness


I am a BETA
Once a commoner, always a commoner
No matter how hard I work
My status would always lurk
I might succeed but I'm never enough
Because I'm not an alpha, life is tough
I never win, be it in life or in love
Because an alpha will always reign above
Once I loved an alpha
And once, an omega
But destiny won over my love
Because a beta like me is never enough


I am an OMEGA
And I am the lowest form
Mocked by society for I'm no good
My whole existence will never be understood
When I'm in heat, they call me a slut
It's uncontrollable, even I am suffering from that
Sometimes, I wish I weren't born
For my life is full of scorn
I wanted to be loved for who I am
Not directed by this stupid destiny, damn!


In this alternate universe
Under the name of omegaverse
Destiny can be your greatest enemy
It's impossible to set yourself free
But I'm hoping that even if you live in such a world
Even if your life would be inevitably twirled
You'll find the courage to push through
Until all the barricade bids you, adieu!

It's hard to imagine "Omegaverse" in real life, but somehow we can incorporate some of the statuses in that universe to ours. Sometimes, we might think that life is unfair... that there are always people who are above us... that there are lucky bastards who were born with a silver spoon in their mouth but little do we know, they also have their own issues.

Life can never be perfect but we can always do our best to live the way we want. It'll take a lot of effort and sacrifice, but in the end, it'll be worth it. Everything we do will pay off. It might not be in a blink of an eye, but just be patient. Your time to shine will eventually come.

If I am to compare the world we live in to Omegaverse, we are all very lucky because even though we face hardships in life, we are free to change our destiny. We can even create our own destiny if we want to. But in their universe, destiny is something inevitable. It's like a curse that stick with you your whole life. Alphas are destined to rule and destined to wallow themselves in pressure just to live up with the expectation that they're born with.Betas are destined to be commoners. They will never be better than alphas because they're never enough. And omegas are destined to fail. They're the lowest kind and are destined to be ridiculed by society unless a rich alpha becomes their pair.

It's actually really frustrating to read these kinds of stories. and yeah... they're not normal stories.. usually NSFW, but somehow it made me realize how lucky I am to live in this world. This world might be imperfect, but at least I'm free. I am allowed to choose how to live my life and I am allowed to be genuinely happy.
