Make Gratitude a Lifestyle!

This ulog marks the Beginning of June 2019, a very special month of the year, being my birth month. Moreover, this year's birthday is also an epoch with the events surrounding it as well as it representation as a shift from one phase of my life to another. Some of the Strategic things is the feat we are achieving on my affiliated Steem communities:

stones.jpg

Ever wondered why tombstones came to be?

A fact remains that on tombstones of either for the poor and down trodden, nor the rich and influential, the year of birth and the year of death are conspicuously engraved therein the stone, as well as their legacies indicated by a short dash. Yes, this is just to tell the unborn generations that such a man/woman had lived.

See this, tombstones are simply to keep memories alive. This in essence is to help us to remember the good old times as well as the painful/hurting moments. When information are graven on stones, they are always fresh in our hearts.

Though we are always conscious to keep the memories of our lives, for our children and others to see what we achieved and where we fell, we however often forget how faithful God has been over the years, let alone keep a memorial of His great deeds. Let's reflect on this verses of the scripture below:

Joshua 4:1-9 (NLT

So Joshua called together the twelve men he had chosen—one from each of the tribes of Israel. 5 He told them, “Go into the middle of the Jordan, in front of the Ark of the Lord your God. Each of you must pick up one stone and carry it out on your shoulder—twelve stones in all, one for each of the twelve tribes of Israel. 6 We will use these stones to build a memorial. In the future your children will ask you, ‘What do these stones mean?’ 7 Then you can tell them, ‘They remind us that the Jordan River stopped flowing when the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant went across.’ These stones will stand as a memorial among the people of Israel forever.”

8 So the men did as Joshua had commanded them. They took twelve stones from the middle of the Jordan River, one for each tribe, just as the Lord had told Joshua. They carried them to the place where they camped for the night and constructed the memorial there.

9 Joshua also set up another pile of twelve stones in the middle of the Jordan, at the place where the priests who carried the Ark of the Covenant were standing. And they are there to this day.

In the scripture above, Joshua in a way to let the unborn generations to see evidences beyond doubts how God in His mightiness opened up the Jordan river for them to walk through to the promised land, told the people to raise stones in the middle of the river (Joshua 4:4-9). These great deeds and miracles off God were remembered by the Psalmist in Psalm 77: 11-20

Keeping memorials of the deeds of God build our faith faith as we ravage and consume these testimonies. Telling the stories to the unborn generation becomes so simple with stones set in places as a memorial.

Our deliberate and conscious keeping of stones as and landmarks as a reference point for remembering God's goodness stimulates faith in us and in others.

Action Point:

List 10 specific areas of your life, family, ministry, business, career, health that has witnessed fruitfulness and increase from January to now, then thank God for it.

Prayer

Dear Lord, am sorry for not deliberately thanking you for all the blessings I received, give a grateful heart and help me to dwell.

Looks fine, your idea for the symbol on these thombstones was really a great one!

We know what the "one eye" on the pyramide - which is to find on the dollar note too - stands for, why so much "Stars" (bad shepherds) use this sign to communicate each other without people who never read the bible notice what's going on (Isiah 11:17) and why they're so successfully in this world (Matthew 16:26).

Your symbol with the reversed pyramide and the cross in there shows the end of this fight, the victory of the King of Kings Jesus Christ who will beat the Rulers of this lost/sinful world (Luke 4:5-7, Ephesians 6:12) for all times and that's what I LOve so much, when I see the sign for this victory on these thombstones.

Btw, here in Germany exists also a group who use this sign on their clothing when they evangelize together, so let's keep it up with this important work to rescue as much souls as we can by sharing the evangelism.

Thanks for the comment

Good message hosted here in the church, I hope our gravestones bear the good testimony of the Christians. God bless you!

Thanks for that insightful comment
